By: Jack Mace: Watersports Buyer | May 24, 2023

Over the years, we've seen remarkable innovations in watercraft designed for fun behind a wake boat. Wakeboarding, wakeskating, and wake surfing have transformed how we enjoy the water. Now, wake foils are taking the experience to new heights, quite literally. The best wake foils are systems built around a combination of a board, mast, and foil, allowing for versatile component swapping to cater to changing conditions or rider styles.

New This Year:

2023 sees an influx of brands carrying foils, from high-end lightweight options to beginner models – we've got it all! Wing foiling, a rapidly growing variation of wake foiling, allows riders to harness the wind's power with an inflatable wing, making the sport accessible to even more enthusiasts. With everyone seeking a unique ride experience from their wakefoil, there's no single "best" wakefoil. Instead, it's crucial to consider your experience level and expectations and then shop for a foil setup tailored to your needs. So, if you love spending your summer on boards, it's time to elevate your experience with our carefully curated selection of the best wakefoils of 2023.

Jack Mace

I grew up on the north end of Lake Washington and was surrounded by watersports enthusiasts who all had an immense passion for any activity done on the water. My dad has also worked in the boating industry my whole life, so those two factors were the main building blocks that shaped my love for the industry from a young age.

After attending Western Washington University, I moved back to the Seattle area and worked as a sailing instructor for a number of years at my cousin’s rental shop on Lake Union before joining the evo family in 2012.

At evo, I started out on the customer service team and worked my way onto the merchandising team which gave me the opportunity to integrate my passion and love for the water into a career as the Watersports Buyer. I still reside in the Seattle area with my wife Katie and two sons, Wes and Carter.
