Sea to Summit Comfort Plus Insulated Sleeping Pad

I recently upgraded my sleeping pad that was probably from 2003 to the Sea to Summit Comfort Plus. Although any sleeping pad could impress me, this pad blew me away with its versatility, comfort, insulation, and easy inflation system. Living in Colorado, you can camp in a range of climates from desert heat to the chilly high alpine, so I was looking for a sleeping pad to do it all, in every season. The Comfort Plus is aptly named because it is so comfortable. It also comes with an inflation feature in the bag it’s packed in, so you don’t have to feel lightheaded after blowing it up. This pad packs down great and is versatile enough to bring on backpacking or car camping trips. If you’re looking for a pad that you can use anytime and anywhere, this is it.

Therm-a-Rest NeoAir XLite Sleeping Pad

Looking to ditch weight in your overnight kit? When it comes to ultralight air sleeping pads, the best in my opinion is Therm-a-Rest’s NeoAir XLite. The NeoAir XLite somehow provides way more warmth for weight than all of the competition. I use this pad anywhere (including my hammock), but it is especially ideal for backpacking. The regular size is listed at an insane 12.5 ounces and it packs down to the size of a water bottle. The nylon fabric is comfortable, quiet (not crinkly), and durable enough that my 75-pound dog has not managed to pop it. I love the NeoAir so much, I actually have a second one: the NeoAir XTherm. The XTherm is even warmer and perfect for mountaineering, snow camping, or any missions where temps might dip well below freezing. Backed by a Seattle company that’s been doing it for 50 years, Therm-a-Rest’s NeoAir sleeping pads are an optimal upgrade to lighten your load.
