The 9 Best Ski Poles of 2023-2024
By: Jordan Berde: Ski Buyer | October 24, 2023
If you thought ski poles were just some sticks that you hold onto while you’re skiing, you’re dead wrong. Okay, maybe not totally wrong. Actually, you’re mostly pretty much right. But not all sticks are created equal. With options in adjustability, weight, durability, and functionality, the best ski poles on the mountain turn out to be as varied as the skiers who hold them. Whether you’re looking for an ultralight backcountry tool, a colorful accessory, an aerodynamic piste planter, or an indestructible powder day partner, read on, we’ve got something for you when choosing ski poles.
New This Year:
The 2024 selection of ski poles is buzzing with the advent of lightweight touring poles with a fixed length, marking a significant trend that caters to the durability demands of backcountry adventures. This shift towards fixed length designs underscores a commitment to providing robust support without the added weight, a crucial factor when navigating rugged terrains. The emphasis on durability blended with lightweight construction reflects a well-thought-out response to the real-world challenges faced by skiers venturing beyond the groomed trails. The 2024 ski poles lineup is not merely about aiding movement; it's about enhancing the backcountry experience by offering reliable, sturdy, and lightweight companions for those daring explorations.

Jordan Berde
Jordan (she/her) is a Ski Buyer at evo. Before working in this role, she worked at the evo Denver store for two years, where she began as a bootfitter and quickly moved into Store Lead and then Store Supervisor roles. Prior to evo, Jordan worked as a bootfitter at other shops, a mountain bike instructor for kiddos in Colorado, a ski patroller in Alaska, and a liftie in Taos. She's an avid backcountry skier and ski mountaineer and recently summited Mt. Baker as a fundraiser for SheJumps, a non-profit committed to getting more women involved in the outdoors. She started sliding on snow later than most (in her late 20s), but now she’s the friend getting up at 4 am to make sure she can get a dawn patrol lap in before work! Jordan is passionate about diversity and inclusion and making outdoor activities more inclusive to all genders, races, and ability levels. When she's not skiing, Jordan is likely on her mountain bike exploring all that Colorado and Washington have to offer with her wife. Some say she never stops moving…
