The Specialized Turbo Levo R is an agile and fast eMTB that has the power of the Levo 4, in a lightweight and trail-oriented package. The Turbo Levo R takes Specialized's full-power eMTB platform and trims it down with 140mm of travel up front, 130mm out back, and a carbon frame that sheds 530 grams over its bigger sibling without losing an ounce of punch. Whether you're railing flowy singletrack or hunting your next lap at the bike park, the Levo R turns full power into full control.

The Specialized 3.1 Motor features up to 5 hours of riding range, an 840Wh internal battery, and an all New MasterMind T3 Display System that provides superior ride customization and control. The MicroTune and Smart control features let you manage output and effort for a personalized, efficient, and powerful day on the trails.
Carry essentials, snacks, and more in weather-resistant SWAT storage. This downtube compartment has enough space for an 840Wh battery, which secures magnetically and leaves space for tools and treats.
GENIE suspension technology is your answer to bumpy rides. GENIE is a dual-air-spring system that delivers linear, smooth performance over bumpy rides. The air volume of two connected air chambers creates a flatter spring curve for the first 70% of the shock's stroke, ensuring control and responsiveness. At the last 30% of the stroke, the outer chamber closes automatically, decreasing air volume, which absorbs big impacts and helps avoid bottom-outs.

The TurboLevo R is for riders who want full e-MTB power in a lighter, more agile package.
Running 130mmof rear travel and 140mm up front with full 29" wheels, the Turbo Levo R’s 3.1 motor delivers up to 810 watts of peak power (850W on the S-Works) in a lightweight chassis. The weight reduction translates directly into a snappier, more responsive feel on the trail, especially on tighter, flowy singletrack where the bike can change direction quickly and carry speed through technical sections. The Turbo Levo 4 is an ebike that blends in.
The Turbo Levo R and the Turbo Levo 4 share the same motor DNA, but they're built to feel like very different bikes on the trail.
Specialized's own analogy sums it up well: the Levo 4 is the truck, the Levo R is the rally car. The Levo 4 runs 150mm of rear travel, a 160mm fork, and a mullet wheel setup (29" front, 27.5" rear), which gives it more compliance and confidence on aggressive, chunky terrain. At around 2.6kg heavier than comparable Levo R builds, it's the more planted, capable choice when trails get rough and rowdy.
The Levo R has 20mm less travel in the front and rear, switches to a full 29" setup, and sheds meaningful weight through a lighter FACT 11m carbon layup and a Genie shock without a piggyback reservoir. The result is a bike that feels noticeably quicker through corners and livelier underfoot, especially on faster, flowy trails where the extra travel of the Levo 4 isn't really needed. If your riding is more trail-focused and you value agility and a connected feel over maximum capability in the rough, the Levo R might be fore you. If you're regularly pushing into aggressive all-mountain terrain, big descents, or you just like the planted confidence of more travel, the Levo 4 earns its weight.
The Levo R and the Levo SL 2 represent two very different philosophies for a trail e-bike, and which one fits you depends a lot on how you want the motor to feel.
The Levo SL 2 runs the SL 1.2 motor, a lightweight unit that puts out 320 watts and 50Nm of torque. It's designed to feel as close to a regular mountain bike as possible, with light, subtle assist that amplifies your effort without dominating the ride. The tradeoff is less raw power and a smaller 320Wh battery that limits range on longer or more demanding days. It's the pick for riders who want an e-bike that feels nearly indistinguishable from a non-assisted trail bike.
The Levo R delivers more than twice the torque and over twice the peak power of the SL 2, which changes the character of the ride. Climbs that would have you working hard on the SL 2 become much more manageable, and the larger 840Wh battery gives you serious range. It's heavier than the SL 2, but Specialized has worked hard to make it feel as lively as possible for a full-power bike. Worth noting: the Levo SL is currently being phased out of the lineup, so availability will be limited going forward. Check out the Turbo Levo SL 2
GENIE is Specialized's answer to a long-standing trade-off in suspension design. The Levo R gets coil-like sensitivity without the weight penalty of an actual coil shock.
A standard air shock tends to feel stiff and supportive early in the travel, then ramp up sharply toward the end. That early stiffness means small bumps and roots can knock the rear wheel off the ground momentarily, breaking traction at the worst possible time. The GENIE shock uses a dual-chamber air spring: the first chamber provides a relatively linear feel through the first 70% of travel, keeping the tire in contact with the ground over rough terrain. The second chamber kicks in progressively toward the end of the stroke to prevent harsh bottom-outs, no matter how big the hit.
For the Levo R specifically, this matters because 130mm of travel is doing work that's usually reserved for more travel on a heavier bike. The GENIE helps the bike extract maximum grip and composure from what's available. It's tunable too: Specialized includes a full tuning kit with the bike, and you can adjust the spring curve with volume spacers to dial in the feel for your weight and riding style.
All Levo R builds share the same FACT 11m carbon frame, GENIE shock, 3.1 motor platform, 840Wh battery, and adjustable geometry. The key differences as you move up are suspension quality, drivetrain performance, and wheel weight.
The Comp is the entry point into the Levo R carbon lineup. It runs a Fox 36 SL Performance fork, a Fox Float Performance GENIE rear shock, and a SRAM S1000 Eagle AXS T-Type drivetrain. The Expert has a Fox 36 SL Performance Elite fork (Kashima-coated stanchions) and Fox Float X Performance Elite GENIE shock, along with a SRAM GX Eagle AXS T-Type drivetrain. Performance Elite dampers offer more adjustability and a more refined feel than the base Performance spec.
The S-Works is the top of the line, and it has an S-Works 3.1 motor (850W/111Nm, up from 810W/105Nm), a Fox 36 SL Factory fork, Fox Float X Factory GENIE shock, SRAM XX Eagle AXS T-Type drivetrain, and Roval Traverse SL carbon wheels. The motor upgrade is exclusive to this build.
There's also a Comp Alloy build for riders who want the Levo R platform at a lower entry point, with an aluminum alloy frame and the same 3.1 motor.
