The Stumpjumper works whether your ride starts with a road climb, a tech climb, or a shuttle to the top. With 145mm of rear travel, a Fox GENIE shock, and geometry that splits the difference between trail efficiency and enduro confidence, the Stumpjumper 15 is designed to feel at home in a wide range of conditions. Size-specific geometry across six sizes (S1–S6) means the bike is dialed for your build, not just your height, and the SWAT 4.0 in-frame storage keeps your essentials tucked away without cluttering your jersey pockets.

The Stumpjumper 15 is a more capable, more versatile bike than the models it replaced. It does it as one unified platform instead of two.

The previous generation split into two distinct bikes: the shorter-travel Stumpjumper 14 (140mm rear / 150mm front on most builds), which leaned toward efficiency, and the longer-travel Stumpjumper EVO (150mm rear / 160mm front), which leaned toward gravity. The Stumpjumper 15 combines them into a single design with 145mm of rear travel and a more balanced geometry. Practically, that means riders no longer have to choose which version fits their trails — the 15 is built to handle both.

The biggest technical leap is the Fox GENIE shock, co-developed with Specialized. Its dual air chamber design delivers a coil-like feel through the initial stroke for better small-bump sensitivity and traction, then ramps up progressively toward the end of the travel to resist harsh bottom-outs. The frame design is also all-new: a cleaner, more integrated carbon chassis with a redesigned SWAT 4.0 storage door, size-specific chainstay lengths across four settings, and carbon frames that are compatible only with wireless electronic drivetrains. For MY2026, all builds gained the EVO designation alongside a bump to a 160mm fork, the piggyback Fox Float X GENIE shock, and higher-rise bars.

The Stumpjumper 15 and the Epic 9 are built for very different jobs. One is a capable all-terrain trail bike, the other is an unapologetically race-focused XC machine.

The Epic 9 is Specialized's current flagship cross-country race bike, running 110 to 120mm of travel front and rear on a frame designed to be among the lightest full-suspension bikeson the market. It's the bike Christopher Blevins races on the XC World Cup circuit, and its entire design prioritizes converting pedaling effort into forward motion as efficiently as possible. The tradeoff is that it's a demanding bike on rougher terrain. it shines on fast, flowing XC courses and moderate singletrack, but its limited travel and race-oriented geometry are a real constraint when trails get chunky or steep.

The Stumpjumper 15 sits in a more downhill oriented catagory. With 145mm of rear travel, the GENIE shock, and geometry tuned for all-mountain versatility, it has more forgiving suspension designed to perform across a wide range of conditions. It handles sustained technical terrain and rowdy descents with ease, while still climbing efficiently enough that most riders won't feel like they're fighting the bike on the way up. If you want to go fast on XC courses and keep things light, the Epic 9 is the specialized tool. If you want one bike that handles everything from long pedal days to committing descents, the Stumpjumper 15 is the better match.

The GENIE shock is what sets the Stumpjumper 15 apart from most trail bikes. It's a fundamentally different approach to how an air spring works, and the difference is noticeable on the trail.

The GENIE uses two separate air chambers: a large main chamber that stays active through the first roughly 70% of the stroke, giving a coil-like, supple feel for small bumps and rough terrain, and a secondary chamber that kicks in toward the end of the stroke to ramp up support and prevent harsh bottom-outs. The result is a shock that behaves more like a coil spring at the beginning of the travel while still providing the progressive support and tunability of an air spring when you need it.

On the trail, this translates to noticeably better traction and a more planted feel on technical terrain compared to a standard air shock, without the weight penalty of a coil setup. You can also tune the feel by adjusting volume spacers in the X-V chamber to dial in more or less progression, depending on your trails and riding style.
