This incredible touring tool weighs in at just over 1100 grams, skis as well as many mid-flex alpine boots, and tours like a dream. If you've been wondering how light you can go and still drive that ski the way you want, this may be the answer. As a bonus the Backland Carbon is one of the few light boots that remains relatively low volume, so you aren't swimming in the shell after a few days of skiing - and the forefoot can be modified for extra width using Atomic's proven Memory Fit heat molding process. Memory Fit: Advanced heat-fitting technology creates a fully personalized shell, cuff and liner in minutes. The key is Memolink, Atomic's special additive that improves the moldability and stretch of their plastics.
