Join evoTrip, Katrina Strand, and other expert, local Strand Training coaches for a progression clinic designed for intermediate and intermediate + riders.

This summer, join us in Whistler for a weekend of progression, connection, and pure trail time. This two-day women’s mountain bike clinic is designed to help intermediate riders build confidence, refine skills, and ride with more flow — all while connecting with a crew of like-minded riders.

Why Join This Clinic?

Progression-first format focused on maximizing ride time

Top-tier, certified coaching — no fluff, just real skills

Low coach-to-rider ratios for plenty of personalized attention

Ride iconic Whistler terrain outside the Bike Park

Supportive, inclusive community of women riders

We’ll start each day at evo’s new rental centre in Whistler Village with coffee, snacks, and a gear check before heading out to ride the Whistler Valley trail network. Our days are built around ride time — not waiting around — and structured to include skill drills, sessioning key trail features, and putting it all together on full runs. At the end of each day, we’ll wrap up with a post-ride hang and some local après vibes.

This isn’t your typical clinic — it’s about building confidence and flow through repetition, connection, and expert coaching in one of the best riding destinations in the world.

Please note: this clinic is designed for intermediate to intermediate plus riders who are comfortable on blue trails and want to improve their skills in a fun, non-intimidating setting. Not sure if it’s the right fit? Reach out — we’re happy to chat.

Spaces are limited and expected to sell out — grab your spot and join us for a weekend of bikes, progression, and good company in Whistler. Sign up now or reach out with questions — we can’t wait to ride with you.

FAQ
FAQ

Please arrive to evo Rentals in the heart of Whistler Village by 9:15am on Day 1, August 23 for a casual meet and greet with your coaches and fellow riders.
  • What skill and experience level is required for this clinic?
This is an intermediate and intermediate + focused mountain biking course, suited to riders comfortable riding blue trails. "Intermediate" means you are comfortable on all green and some blue trails, and are able to change gears, brake safely and maintain balance on climbs and descents at slower speeds. You are interested in exploring more advanced features and terrain. Intermediate + means you are comfortable on all green and blue trails and have begun to explore black terrain. You understand how to brake safely and how to maintain balance on climbs and descents at a variety of speeds. You are interested in gaining the skills to tackle selective black terrain. If you have questions about your skill level, please email us at [email protected]
  • Is my trip guaranteed to run?
No, please note there is a minimum number of guests required for this clinic to operate. Please wait to make travel arrangements until you have received confirmation from evoTrip.
  • Should I bring my own bike? Will bike rentals be available?
You are welcome to bring your own mountain bike if you have one. Or, if you’d like to rent a bike, evo Rentals in the Whistler Village will have plentiful options available, at an exclusive, discounted 30% off rate for clinic participants. If the latter, then we recommend you pre-book your rental sooner than later as these are subject to availability.

Katrina Strand, along with her team of professional, experienced Strand Training coaches, know all the strategies and techniques to help you take your riding skills to the next level. From the foundational basics to fine tuning skills, Strand Training's team offers tailored instruction to meet your individual or group needs.
  • What is the maximum number of guests on this trip?
This clinic will have a maximum of 15 participants, however the group will be broken down into smaller riding groups with a 5 (or 6, maximum) :1 student to coach ratio, to ensure you get the instruction and personalized attention you need to feel confident.
  • What kind of accommodation discount can you offer?
For those not based locally, we recommend the Aava Whistler Hotel and evo guests get 15% off with code EVO@AAVA at the following link: https://www.paradoxhotels.com/aava-whistler . Searchers, seekers, bikers, skiers, snowboarders and adventurers of all types see the Aava Whistler Hotel as more than just a place to drop their bags. A mere two-minute walk from Whistler Village and a five-minute walk from the Whistler and Blackcomb Mountain gondolas, our hotel offers a tranquil calm amidst your explorations, where you can enjoy affordable comfort and modern style while planning your next Whistler, Canada mountain adventure. The Aava Whistler Hotel is Whistler BC’s bike-friendliest hotel with a bike vault, bike valet, wash and tool station, which are all offered at no charge. Plus, all year round, we get the importance of downtime when recharging for your next escapade. Imagine soaking in our steamy hot tub or heated pool after an epic day of activity surrounded by magnificent mountain views and good friends as you reminisce about the day’s events and plan tomorrow’s exploits.
  • Should I tip my coach?
Yes! Tipping is customary and is greatly appreciated.
  • Should I purchase travel insurance?
Travel insurance is recommended for your trip that includes medical. Typically bikes are not 100% covered by travel insurance policies. Many homeowners or renters policies do cover bikes while traveling abroad, so be sure to check into this before the trip. If you wish to get extra insurance for your bike, we recommend Velosurance. For standard trip insurance, if you do not wish to insure your bike or have bike coverage from another policy, we recommend World Nomads.
  • What if I need to cancel my trip?
Cancellations will be subject to a cancellation fee (see policy below). For this reason, we recommend purchasing travelers insurance, which will cover the cost of your trip in extenuating circumstances. All cancellations must be submitted to evo in writing, are effective as of the date we receive them according to our internal records and will be subject to a cancellation fee as follows: Cancellation 31+ days prior to trip departure - $50 administrative fee. Cancellation 30 or less days prior to departure - 100% of total booking cost.

“Katrina creates a comfortable learning environment and is a great coach. I thoroughly enjoyed coaching with her and gained a lot of skills and confidence. We are so lucky to have a talented coach like her in Whistler. Take advantage of it! If you’re thinking about coaching - working with Katrina and her team is a no brainer”
Alison
Strand Training Client
"Just did a [Strand Training] mountain bike coaching program and it was fantastic! Excellent breakdown of technique and approach to difficult features, and a fun, useful session to refine riding technique and skills. I have also done Katrina's personal training program in the past, and achieved more than I thought possible in a personalized training program specific to the race I was training toward. She brings so much experience to the table, and does it in a way that all just makes sense. Highly recommend!"
