Salomon Rockette 90 Skis - Women's 2013: Put a little kick in your step with the Salomon Rockette 90 Skis. All new for 2013, Salomon is bringing you an all-mountain ski that any women would fight for. The All Terrain Rocker is going to push you into leaps and bounds into anything you want. Go shred a bowl, find some new pow, and mach down the groomers. With the full woodcore, you’ll be stable at any speed and feeling good vibes all day.
Shape
Hybrid Twin Rocker: All Terrain Rocker in the tip with an Early Rise Tail. A 60% pressure zone when flat that smoothly transitions to an 85% pressure zone when on edge gives you optimal float in powder, stability at high speed and the ability to ride any terrain easily.
Construction
Full Woodcore from tip to tail offers optimum stability on snow and powerful rebound, which maximizes ski/snow contact and filters vibrations.
Semi-Sandwich Sidewalls makes the ski more lively with increased stability underfoot.
Additional Features
Pulse Pad is a layer of rubber along the edges and in certain zones of the ski for a smoother ride and improved ski/snow contact.
Wide Edges are thicker for increased durability and improved shock resistance.
Total Edge Reinforcement has a fiber directly on the edges providing edge stiffness for improved durability and grip.
Binding Compatibility
We recommend a brake width that is equal to the ski waist width and at most 15 mm wider.

    All-Mountain
    All-mountain skis are designed to handle anything you throw at them including powder, ice, groomers, steeps, heavy snow, and everything in between, but they aren’t necessarily a master of any one terrain. If you’re only going to own one ski to do it all, this is what you want. All-mountain skis generally have what we call mid-fat waists that range from 80-110 mm.
  • Ability Level: Intermediate-Advanced
    Intermediate-Advanced
    The majority of skiers/snowboarders fall into this level, whether you like to carve on groomers or venture into the powder. These skis/snowboards may be somewhat wider than beginner-intermediate skis, usually with a stronger wood core and sandwich sidewall construction. Depending on the type of ski, intermediate-advanced level skis may have full camber, rocker, or some combination of the two.
  • Rocker Type: Rocker/Camber/Rocker
    Rocker/Camber/Rocker
    Rocker/Camber/Rocker skis have the playfulness and float of a rockered ski as will as the added edge hold of a cambered ski. The contact points on skis with this profile are closer towards the middle of the ski than a fully cambered ski, but still not underfoot. The cambered midsection provides a longer effective edge on hardpack, increasing edge hold and stability, while the rockered tip and tail provide floatation in deeper snow and allow the ski to initiate and release from turns easier.

    Desinged to allow you to ski backwards, full twin tips are found primarily on park & pipe skis and freestyle powder skis.       Great skis overall. Really good carve and grip on varied snow conditions. Allow for a lot of control. Float fairly easily but have a bit of drag in slushier snow. Really fun skis that can cruise.

      I would recommend these skis for intermediate to advanced skiers who are looking for an all mountain terrain ski those who want the carve but also some float but don't want to commit to the fatties.

      con: they scratched up a bit after first couple uses but are pretty durable. They are a little heavier than I like, but I'm lazy.

          The Rockette 90 is light, responsive, and fun-fun-fun! It surfs through boot-top mashed potatoes and refrozen crud, and is quick through bumps and trees. Not a race ski, but does a respectable job carving New England hardpack. They definitely ski a bit short, but the sweet spot is huge!
