Flow The Five Snowboard Bindings 2010: Brand new to the Flow binding line, The Five is the binding you need to take your riding to a perfect 10. Responsive, durable and stylish, The Five boasts an all-new H-series baseplate with aluminum Power Bridge technology. Once you strap into these bad boys, everyone else will have a hard time keeping up.

  • Straps:Flow’s I-Flex Strap has deep side cutouts that provide ideal flex for freestyle maneuvers and all-mountain riding. The I-Flex is the most adaptable strap in the line, working with virtually every boot shape on the market. The 3-D molded contour nestles perfectly to the critical instep area, while maintaining a direct force path from rider to board for powerful toeside turns.
  • Highbacks:The Flite highback reduces weight and gives more all-around flex. A responsive design that is perfect for all types of riding. The POM material provides a perfect balance of flex and support.
  • Baseplates:If you’re a rider who prefers the smoothness of a molded plastic baseplate design, the M Baseplate is for you. Thanks to the ergonomic “Sung-fit” design, the M Baseplate offers an extremely precise connection between your boot and board. The fiber reinforced nylon of both the baseplate and the highback makes the M Series uncommonly responsive.
  • Additional Features:Movable toe ramp and EVA cushioning pads with 4 locking Airframe MINIratchets and low-friction ladder guides.

I ride and live in the park. Jumps and rails are my life in snowboarding and flow is perfect for that! Every person I meet on the slopes I tell them about flow! I usually snap into my bindings before anyone else with normal bindings can, and I hardly stop at all when I'm snapping into my bindings! They are fast, comfortable, strong, and def the best binding ever created!!!

I have been snowboarding for years upon years and wish that I had gone with a more expensive pair of bindings. If you are a beginner or still not at a level you would want to have a hot girl see you riding at, these bindings will be great for you! I have a previous pair of flow bindings that cost 275 that are AMAZING and have had them for years!! The flow five does not compare to what you can get for just 100 more dollars!

Comments about Flow The Five Snowboard Bindings 2010:

I've always been a fan of Flow bindings, I got a pair many years ago because of the ease of entry/exit. They were great bindings, albeit a little stiff and heavy, those most old bindings are. This new model has a much cleaner look, is lightweight, and more flexible.
I'm always the first boarder ready off a lift, right with the skiers while other boarders are blocking the run fumbling with straps.

Typical bindings have 2 sets of 2 straps you have to attach, not a big deal but it requires most people to sit down and use both hands. Flow bindings have just one heel brace you have to flip up and it locks in automatically, a one handed operation, easily done while standing, moving, or on the ride up.

Older models had a very large single covering with clicked in at each of the 4 corners, this gave good support over the boot, but could make it difficult to make small adjustments as it became stiff and frozen. The large single flap has been replaced with a much less obtrusive band that can be manipulated at each corner independently much more easily.

My boots never slipped out of my old Flow bindings once in over 7 years, and so far no problems with the new ones. You get the ease of clip in bindings with the security of straps and buckles.

Just attached to a new Ride Yukon Wide 159 and using Salomon Synapse Wide Snowboard Boots 12.5 , XL bindings

Comments about Flow The Five Snowboard Bindings 2010:

I'm a brand new border, only started this season, but I came from skiing, so I'm doing most blue runs no problem. Flow bindings are great to not keep your buddies waiting for you at the top of a run. They adjust pretty well, so once you've got them dialed in, you don't need to spend any more time messing around with it. It feels a tad "loose" compared to two-point bindings, but still feels like I've got plently of control, so I'm pretty much used to how they feel now.

Also, with these bindings you can use the side ratchets to take them on and off like regular bindings (in case you're on a steep slope and need to sit down, or something).

Verdict: They take a bit to get used to, but once you do, they're worth it.

Comments about Flow The Five Snowboard Bindings 2010:

I use these Flows to ride the park, powder, & all-mountain. They work well everywhere. I had Flows before - they were not as easily adjustable, a little heavier, but indestructible. These new Flows don't seem quite as sturdy & the back wants to flip up when your getting in & out - a little aggravating at times, but you get used to it. The clips to adjust them also flip up occasionally - not a big deal, just a little annoying.

Comments about Flow The Five Snowboard Bindings 2010:

This is not my first set of flow bindings. Ive been using them since 1995 or so. The definitely improve them each year a little bit. This model is sturdy and functions well. In my experience they still haven't gotten the ratchet lock perfect yet, but every thing else is spot on. I marked it difficult to enter and exit because when the locks dont stay fixed the buckles ratchet tighter and make it a hassle to remove and place your foot in the binding. You really have to just find a happy medium and dont make them too tight or too loose or else you will have troubles. But once they are worn in a bit and set up well, they work great.

Comments about Flow The Five Snowboard Bindings 2010:

These are my favorite bindings out of all the different styles I've used over 10 years of snowboarding.

The best part about these bindings is their quick entry system. I kick my foot in, flip the lever and go :) I'm always waiting for my friends to put their old fashioned bindings on. Another great side effect from the quick entry system is that the highbacks fold down completely flat, which is cool for storing your board in the bag but my favorite use for this unique highback is using it as a brake, I step on the highback and it digs into the snow, I don't move an inch and can just stand there as if on grass. These bindings are also very flexible which is the only reason I bought them in the first place, I was skeptical about quick entry bindings but I wanted some bindings that were going to be flexible in the park. I am glad I bought these bindings, they are so ez to get into, I save a lot of time with these but don't get as much exercise as I used to when I had to sit down every time to strap in :P

One last note is that these are harder to put on while sitting down and if you get into some deep pow then you will have to maneuver a little bit to get out as the highbacks need to go flat passed ur heels before u can slip out.

they feel a little loose but i am getting used to it.
the problem is if you want it to really responsive than it is very difficult to get you feet in. and if you want them to be easy to get in they arent as responsive.

Comments about Flow The Five Snowboard Bindings 2010:

I've always liked the easy in and out of the Flows. They've made it a little easier to adjust the tightness, which is good. They are also somewhat stiffer.

One downside is that the levers that make adjustment easier tend to pop up, and when I push them back down it tightens up, so I sometimes have to loosen them back up so I can get my boot in and out.

If you like a rock-solid binding, these may not be for you. If you can tolerate a tiny bit of play, the convenience is worth it.

Once you get them adjusted right they become really quick and easy. They have a little flex to them but I like that coming from a surfing background. Great bindings and an even better price if you can get them on the evo outlet.

Comments about Flow The Five Snowboard Bindings 2010:

The bindings are awesome. They are extremely adjustable and keep a lot of support all over the boot. It love that you don't have to adjust and ratchet for every ride... just step in, one latch, and it's as tight as ever.

However, it took me a while to get used to this type of rear entry binding. To get it as tight as I wanted it would take a lot of adjusting my foot placement and trying to get my boot further into the binding. It is easy to enter if the binding is too loose, but who wants a loose binding? After a few days on the mountain I became used to it and developed my own system for entering the binding easily while maintaining a tight fit. Now I couldn't be happier.
