Built for the really fun stuff, the Santa Cruz Bicycles Bronson A R Complete Mountain Bike is an all-mountain workhorse. With 150mm of travel out back and 160mm up front, it's a 27.5" bike that seeks out the gnar. For a six inch bike it pedals amazingly well, getting you to the top without too much pedal bob through a redesigned VPP configuration, and a steeper seat tube so you don't loop out. When it's time to head back down, the bike just plain rips: the shock has been moved to the downtube, making this Bronson stick to the trail like never before. With that Yari on a 65° head angle, this bike seems to only get more stable at speed. Built up with SRAM NX Eagle™, this is a beast of a bike that does more than carbon bikes twice its price.

150mm VPP® Suspension: VPP is based on the patented principle of having two short links rotating in opposite directions. This system provides huge design flexibility, allowing Santa Cruz to manipulate shock rates to the intended purpose and character of each model; from short travel endurance bikes to World Championship winning DH machines.
RockShox Super Deluxe R Shock: The directive was simple. Engineer a shock that does for rear-suspension performance what Pike did for forks. Simple? Don’t bet on it. A gamble? Absolutely. It required a complete change in the way SRAM approaches shock design. It meant focusing on performance first and leaving old constraints behind. And it gave them a clear path to develop the world’s lowest-friction shock — Super Deluxe. Metric sizing gives Super Deluxe significantly increased bushing overlap, which, together with a sophisticated new bushing profile, virtually eliminates friction in the shock. A new damper holds the shock high in its stroke and offers unparalleled traction. Unshackled from the old obstacles of shock design, Super Deluxe is free to tackle new ones — on the trail. This changes everything.
Shock Adjustments: External Rebound Adjust, Air Spring Pressure
Frame Update 3.0: This iteration of the Bronson features a revised VPP® suspension with a new lower-link mounted shock. This yields a smoother pedaling platform, greater bottom out resistance, and a supportive mid-stroke. Add to this a mildly slacker head angle, slightly steeper seat angle and a longer reach to make the Bronson more versatile than ever.
