Mammut Pulse Barryvox Avalanche Beacon

The Mammut Pulse Barryvox Avalanche Beacon: Fast. Effective. Versatile. This 3 antenna beacon leads the industry in ease of use in its intuitive "Basic" mode with a super clear distance readout and single arrow directional display that novices can use easily with pinpoint accuracy. "Advanced" mode users have more search options than you can shake a probe at, including the ability to utilize analog audio signals as well as the digital readout (or even turn the digital display off and rely solely on the analog signal). The Pulse Barryvox is the only beacon currently on the market that can use Lithium batteries, which have an advantage in very cold temperatures. It's also unique in its ability to detect a heartbeat and movement in a victim wearing another Pulse unit. This beacon will appeal to avalanche pros and tech geeks who are willing to take the time to master its use as well as those who want the option of an analog mode for superior search range or as an aid in fine search.

Comments about Mammut Pulse Barryvox Avalanche Beacon:

So far so good the Barryvox Pulse. Easy to use right out of the box and I love that you can enter owner details that come up on the screen when you first turn it on. I haven't practiced with it as much as I would have liked so can't comment on the finer details in search mode. This beacon has an advanced mode setting and basic setting so you can have it on either depending on the experience of the user. My husband and I have the same beacon so I like the added feature of the beacon letting you know if the other user is breathing in the event of a burial. Very happy with this transceiver so far.

Comments about Mammut Pulse Barryvox Avalanche Beacon:

Great Beacon, out of the five I have used the Pulse is by far the fastest easiest most intuitive I have used. The 360 degree arrow really helps when identifying burials. The arrow doesn't jump like most of the beacons I have seen, it is very smooth and easy to follow. I also love the fact that you can upgrade the firmware when updates come up. It is especially good at multiple burials, during practice sessions with friends I could easily locate all six of our beacons and I have been told it can handle up to sixteen (hope we never have to use it). All in all well worth the money, now I want all my friends to have one.
