Product Info

The Tecnica Cochise 120 Ski Boots are an updated version of evo's best selling crossover boot for the past several years. Lighter by 144 grams in our sample boot, shorter boot sole lengths (5 mm in every size), and a snugger fit around the midfoot and ankle are some of the key improvements for 2017. The Cochise 120 maintains the smooth progressive flex Tecnica is famed for, with reduced friction at the pivot points in tour mode and a self-adjusting locking mechanism than reduces slop as the metal-on-metal connection wears. For 2017, the Cochise 120 will have genuine Dynafit tech inserts molded into the soles (no more swap soles) for those who own both an alpine and a tech setup. Powerful alpine skiers who want to continue to push hard in the backcountry should take a serious look at the Cochise 120 as their do-it-all boot - you'll have a hard time finding a better tool for the job.

Last: 99 mmPerformance fit and above average instep height for average width feet.

evo Bootfitter's NotesThe 2017 Cochise lasts are a departure from the previous Cochise line. Gone are the different fits for the 130 flex and all the others; the entire Cochise line shares a brand new 99 mm last. Narrower in the midfoot and heel than any previous version, with reduced volume around the ankle and slightly lower instep, the new Cochise also has a less pointy toebox. The new polyether plastic punches well without the tendency to attract fingerprints that characterized older Tecnica Triax blends, and the C.A.S markings at typical problem areas (first and fifth met heads, navicular, styloid process) are quite accurate for most feet (care should be taken when punching at the bi-injection seams on the shell).

C.A.S. ShellCustom Adaptive Shape shells are anatomically formed around the heel and problem areas at the factory. Common punch zones are plainly marked with a dot grid pattern on the shell, and the new polyether and Triax 3.0 shell materials offer improved stability when heated.

Quick InstepA shaped plastic component at the instep that is softer than the rest of the shell helps you to step into and out of the ski boot.

C.A.S. Grindable Boot BoardThe removable C.A.S. boot board offers plenty of thickness for grinding and a grid pattern for reference.

Flex: 120A stiff flex for expert or heavier skiers who require quick rebound and ski response.

Quadrafit Ultrafit Pro LinerThin and responsive pre-formed liner offers superior performance and fit.

C.A.S. Liner TechnologyC.A.S. Technology focuses on the critical fit areas of the foot to achieve an accurate anatomical shape using dual density pre-shaped thermoformed microcell material. This provides a great out-of-the-box fit for enhanced sensitivity and power transmission all while allowing for liner customization.

Comments about Tecnica Cochise 120 Ski Boots 2017:

This boot came back for 2017 improving on one of the best fitting boots ever in an incredibly light weight package. This boot is super lite and falls into the category of boots that ski as well (if not better) than they tour. This boot is very accommodating over the instep making it great for people with higher volume feet. Another great feature is the pre-perforated punch zones making this boot very easy to customize and allow the skier to truly dial in the fit. Strong consistent flex, great walk mode and lightweight materials make this an awesome one boot quiver.
