Specs

  • Ability Level: Beginner-Intermediate
    Beginner-Intermediate
Someone who is new to the sport or working on linking smoother turns falls into this ability level. Typical beginner ski/snowboard qualities include: softer materials, narrower widths, and capped constructions. The idea is to create a ride that is easy to turn and very forgiving in case you become off balance or fall in the back seat. The addition of rocker in the tip and tail gives a catch-free feeling and shorter contact length when the ski/snowboard is flat on the snow, making it easier to turn.
  • Ski Boot Flex: Soft
  • Flex Index: 80
  • Forefoot Width: 100 mm
  • Number of Buckles: 4
  • Warranty: 1 Year
  • Binding Compatibility: ISO Alpine

Comments about Atomic Hawx 80 Ski Boots 2013:

Intermediate 40-something (: guy back into skiing this year after a 16 year hiatus. I rented skis and boots but...ummm....you know the deal...rental boots blow. I tried many boots...returned a couple after wearing in the house...just weren't going to work out. One salesman had me rattling around in a 104mm last. The Atomic Hawx 80's are 100mm...I tried these at a local shop and...bang!
Boots are very much an individual foot/skier thing but for me..the Atomics had no pressure points or hot spots. Very warm and wearable all day. And they look cool, baby.

Comments about Atomic Hawx 80 Ski Boots 2013:

Really solid boot to get into skiing. If you start skiing really steep or technical terrain or start getting serious in the park and pipe, I would recommend a stiffer boot (I upgraded to a Lange RX 110, and posted a review of those boots as well). I used these boots to progress my skills from a beginner-intermediate level to an advanced-near expert level. They're comfortable, warm, and confident. Not a super lightweight boot, but they're not really a hiking boot so not a big deal. They are built to the level of quality I would expect from an Atomic product. They are also really good looking!
