Comments about Union Contact Snowboard Bindings 2015:

Got these bindings on an outlet sale (isn't Evo great?) so by reading between the lines you can tell I was ready to settle for mediocre bindings, being broke and all.

Hot dayum are those bindings good! They hug my boots so well, are very comfortable and adjustable, no pressure points, no side to side wiggle and the board control felt very natural and organic in pretty much any condition. Even at high speeds where I thought a softer binding would show me its limits they never felt like I was riding gum shoes and they inspired a lot of confidence. They're marketed as jib bindings but where they really shone (for me) was zooming and slaloming between trees, the control was so perfect I think I rode 30% faster than usual between the trees, giggling like a little boy.

I removed one star because their appearance led me to believe I could just slap them on my board and be ready to go and not having tightened one of the thumb screws enough I almost lost a front strap on top of a chair lift. I know it's "on me" but I felt the need to point that despite its bright colours and playfulness, it's a serious binding and it would be unfair for it to annoy anyone impatient.
It's a five star binding, just treat it well.

Comments about Union Contact Snowboard Bindings 2015:

I bought these to replace my Ride MVMNT bindings. These weigh roughly 1lb 13oz (820 grams), which were about 0.5lb lighter than my Ride bindings. I liked the lightweight aspect of these.

The color combination is also wonderful as it matches my "blue" theme nicely.

I also love the fact that these are VERY easy to remove/unstrap. A simple flick and they're off! The only issue I noticed is that it is not as easy to strap on (I can't just push the straps on, I have to ratchet them closed unless I push fairly hard).

I would also prefer that the heelbacks have a hole for carrying instead of being solid. And they're already slightly scuffed after about 5 days of riding. Not sure how they got that way but that's expected.
