Just as you've been thinking that ski tourers are immune to the pleasures of wider skis, along come the Dynafit Hokkaido Skis. Happiest when stomping big lines in bottomless pow, the Hokkaido is more nimble than one would expect in tighter spots and trees. For those epic pow days when you aren't necessarily going to use the lift (yes, think "Japan") the new Hokkaido flat out kills it - you wouldn't expect anything less with Cody Barnhill and Fredrick Andersson calling the design shots.
Double Elipse Rocker – The two elliptical curves at the waist and at the curve of the rocker work in tandem. Depending on the effect of pressure placed on the binding area, you get varying edge length ideal for each situation. This guarantees optimal edging on icy steep terrain without losing the playful lightness in turn initiation and control.
Tip and Tail Taper
Ash-Poplar Ride Core – By combining the high strength of ash with particularly lightweight poplar, Dynafit created a highly responsive core with outstanding damping properties and rebound without giving up lightness. This has a particularly positive effect on power transfer to the edges and cuts down on chatter at high speeds.
Carbon Speed Stringers – Roving carbon stringer enhances the ski's performance at speed.
Full Carbon Tip – A special carbon core in the tip reduces mass to optimize vibration and damping qualities.
Alloy Tip with Speedskin Fitting – A CNC milled aluminum tip is an integral part of the ski construction to guard against impact, reduce vibration, and form the climbing skin anchor point.
Full ABS Sidewall – Impact resistant ABS along the full length of the sidewall for durability and precise edge control.
Sintered Graphite Base – Dynafit selects the hardest running surfaces available, while still offering optimal glide and wax penetration.
Hokkaido Speedskin Included – Dynafit's entirely reworked skin. A technical breakthrough prevents undesirable snow build-up while also providing excellent gliding and climbing qualities. A special middle membrane stops water from being absorbed and improves the skin's edge seals. The skins are tear resistant and do not wrinkle easily. The Dynafit Stretch System provides the ideal attachment between skin and ski tail. Snow and ice is prevented from getting under the skin, which is tightly wrapped around the tip.
Skin Attachment – Patented SpeedSkin attachment is built into the ski - it's light, secure, and easy to de-skin without removing your skis.
We recommend a brake width equal to or at most 15 mm wider than the ski waist width.

The Dynafit Radical FT 2.0 Ski Bindings are the latest in Dynafit's evolutionary chain, and ski tourists everywhere are the beneficiaries. Last year Dynafit quietly adopted a 10 mm rearward travel feature in the ST and FT bindings to reduce chances of pre-release when the ski is heavily de-cambered. This year they're stepping it up with the introduction of a ISO 13992 certified rotating toe piece in the 2.0, which enhances reliable lateral release and reduces chances of the toe popping open with a twisting force that doesn't require a release.
New 2.0 Toepiece – Essentially a Radical toe on a turntable base, the Dynafit Radical 2.0 toe allows your heel to rotate slightly out of the normal ski range without forcing the toe wings open.
6082 Forged Aluminum base with Chrome Moly Steel Wings
Heel moves backward to accomodate ski flex
Three climbing levels with flat mode; easily changed with a ski pole while skinning
Re-designed Brake – Super positive brake actuation, built-in AFD, and new anti-rotation tab
Toe should be locked by raising toe lever before skinning
Heel should be turned 1/4 turn clockwise to skin; climbing aids can be flipped up or down with a ski pole
Tech Soles Only – Boots with tech fittings in the toe and heel are required for use with this binding.
One Size Fits All – Can be mounted to fit any BSL
Extra-wide binding surface area via new, wider binding rail / baseplate for optimum power transfer.
Forged aluminum heel cover plate for for a stronger climbing bar attachment and better durability.
Low Stack Height – 16 mm toe, 29 mm heel
TŰV certified to ISO/DIN 13992 standards – This binding conforms to the ISO/DIN 13992 alpine touring binding standard.
We recommend a brake width equal to or at most 15 mm wider than the ski waist width.
