The all-new Nordica Enforcer 104 Unlimited is Nordica’s foray into the freeride touring ski market. Nordica has hit the sweet spot with the Unlimited series, combining lightweight uphill performance with a stable and playful ski that is at home in the backcountry, venturing out for some sidecountry, or a day spinning laps inbounds.

Technical Details

The Enforcer 104 Unlimited checks all the boxes for a lightweight freeride touring ski. With a 104 mm waist, poplar/beech core, and a carbon laminate, this ski is a lighter and playful version of the ever popular Enforcer series. The 17.5 M turn radius on the 179 cm ski is perfect for a ski that enjoys all types of turn shapes and is quick edge to edge. Gentle rise tip and tail rocker makes this ski easy to maneuver in tight trees and bumps, and the full length wood core gives this ski tons of pop off every bump and roller.

Ride Impressions

Putting the Enforcer 104 Unlimited through the paces has been a total joy. From a blue bird tour in the Colorado high country to a gloomy socked in resort day, this ski has continued to impress. Having skied the original Enforcer skis I was unsure what to expect from the new Unlimited series. I found this ski to be more playful, easier to maneuver, and quicker edge to edge than the regular Enforcers. I prefer to approach the mountain with a more playful style, and the Enforcer 104 Unlimited held its own in powder, bumps, trees, and wide open groomers and felt very similar to other freeride touring skis. The ski was easy to manipulate into different turn shapes and was as comfortable carving high speed GS turns as it was handling 6 inches of wind buff. In choppy snow, the Unlimited found its speed limit and did give quite a bit of feedback throughout the ski. Instead of full on blasting through snow piles, the Unlimited preferred to pick its ways through the chop.

Touring on the Unlimited 104 was quite pleasant. I knew that its lightweight construction wouldn’t weigh me down and after 1.5k of vert and a couple miles, my legs were still feeling fresh. Even better, I knew the ski would not shy away from the combination of sun and wind crust on the way down.

I debated where to mount the Enforcer 104 Unlimited and ended up going with the factory recommended for my initial impression. After getting some good days on the skis and looking at the measurements, I plan to remount at +1cm as I felt the ski required a bit more effort than necessary in tight bumps and trees. Moving that mount position forward will make it feel even more balanced and unlock some additional playfulness in the ski by getting me into a more neutral stance.

The Bottom Line

If you're looking for a one ski quiver to be able to knock off long tours and still be able to rip laps at the resort this is your ski! Pair it with a hybrid touring binding such as the Salomon Shift or Marker Duke PT and you have yourself the elusive freeride touring ski that will keep you climbing higher, charging harder, and skiing longer than your buddies.
