Moment Governor Skis 2014

The Moment Governor Skis have decided to run for office on a new platform for 2014. With a new shape featuring a shorter sidecut, a narrower tip, and a longer running length, the new Governor is more nimble in tight terrain while retaining the straightline stability needed for crud-filled run outs. Its Front Rocker and super-stiff flex profile keep it rock solid and chatter-free on all types of snow. The ultimate ski for aggressive big-mountain chargers, the Governor will tackle the most challenging lines, destroy them and ask for more.

Product Details

Rocker Type:
Front Rocker: Rocker in the tip with traditional rocker underfoot and a flat tail. Front Rocker gives a ski the strength and edging power of a cambered ski, while the rockered tip speeds turn initiation, blasts through crud and planes quickly in powder. Front Rocker
Flex:
Flex Rating 10 (1 Softest - 10 Stiffest): As stiff as skis come to offer the most stable possible ride in high speed / variable snow conditions.
Core:
Aspen: Light in weight, durable in flex life, and poppy in nature
Ash: This wood is known for its high strength-to-weight ratio. It provides outstanding stiffness without feeling excessively damp, and provides excellent binding retention under high stress.
Laminates:
Carbon Fiber: Moment uses carbon fiber in all of its skis, either in the form of woven uni-directional stringers or carbon tow threads added to the laminate matrix. Lighter than fiberglass, metal, or basalt, carbon helps tune and strengthen the ski while adding longevity to the flex profile.
Fiberglass Matrix: In addition to carbon fiber, Moment uses three types of fiberglass laminates to fine-tune each ski's flex pattern. Triaxial glass adds twisting strength and longitudinal stiffness. Biaxial weaves add torsional stiffness. Unidirectional glass helps absorb vibration and stiffen the ski from tip to tail.
Topsheet:
Sublimated Graphics: A non-toxic and eco-friendly alternative to silk screening.
Sidewalls:
UHMW Polyethylene: An extruded Ultra-High Molecular Weight Polyethylene: it is extremely light, durable, and resistant to separation.
Base:
1.2 mm Durasurf 4001 Sintered: This U.S.-made base material takes a beating while staying fast. It is harder and has better wax-absorbtion properties than extruded bases, making it the industry standard for performance and longevity.
Edges:
2.2 mm Rockwell 48 C Hardened Steel: Heat-treated both at the source and in-house at Moment, these edges are extremely hard and ductile, ensuring you get the most life out of your skis.
Graphics:
Artist: Christopher Everhart
Binding Compatibility:
We recommend a brake width equal to or at most 15 mm wider than the ski waist width.
