The 2014 Never Summer Onyx is new to their line this year and has a true twin shape, blunted low profile nose and tail, and Press Flex Core. This shape minimizes material for a lighter more balanced spin weight while extending the effective edge for more stability on takeoffs and landings. The women's version of the NS Evo and replacing last year's Pandora, the Onyx is loaded with tech that gives you powerful pop with a buttery, playful flex. Slam, let the girls be girls!

Rocker Type:

Original Rocker & Camber Profile (RC): Rocker underfoot for flotation, mobility, and a forgiving feel, plus camber extending from the outside of the mounting area to the transition area for superior edge hold and explosive pop. The transition area at the end of the camber extends to the effective edge keeping the board from pushing against the snow for effortless glide while making it less likely to catch an edge. RC delivers all the benefits of a rocker design with the spring, stability and edgehold of camber.

Flex:

Flex Rating (1 Soft - 10 Stiff): 3, playful medium flex on the softer side

Shape:

Twin Shape: A symmetrical shape for equally precise performance riding regular or switch.

Low Profile Tip / Tail (LPT): A low profile in the nose and tail of the snowboard maximizes material contact with the snow for more powerful ollie / nollie pop and adds stability to your landings. LPT also reduces the plowing effect in the nose for better glide to the next feature and superior float when it's deep.

Vario Power Grip Sidecut: Multi-radius sidecut adds increased edgehold precisely where it's needed most, from 2 inches outside of each binding and inward toward the center of the board, providing added control and response in any conditions (Sidecut Radius numbers are an average).

Core:

Press Flex Core: This rocker core design is perfect for the Evo, Revolver and Onyx models. It features 2 specific softer flex points between the feet creating better hinge points for ultimate pressing and ollie performance.

Laminates:

Bi-Lite Fiberglass: BI-LITE fiberglass combines many of the strength characteristics of STS ADVANCED fiberglass with an ultra light glass fiber matrix. This delivers incredible freestyle and freeride performance without sacrificing durability.

Onyx Damping System (ODS): The ODS integrates less extensive elastomeric rubber foil around the perimeter of the board with underfoot stabilizers. Resulting in a smooth yet light and lively ride.

Sidewalls:

Sintered P-Tex Sidewall: Unlike conventional ABS sidewalls, that have a tendency to crack in colder temperatures, SINTERED P-TEX SIDEWALLS maintain their integrity at any temperature.

Base:

Durasurf Sintered 4501 Base: Crown Plastics has been the industry leader in sintered materials for over 36 years and has created the DURASURF 4501 sintered base exclusively for Never Summer. This new high density base is extremely fast and will provide unmatched performance and durability.

Edges:

Fully Wrapped Metal Edge: Provides unmatched carving ability and edge grip

Additional Features:

Elastomeric Underfoot Stabilizers: Elastomeric Rubber Stabilizers directly below the mounting area provide optimum vibration absorption and increase high speed stability while reducing foot fatigue.

Harmonic Tip / Tail Dampeners: Harmonic dampeners in the tip and tail take out a large percentage of residual vibration by quieting the nose and tail. This enhances stability at speed, in variable snow conditions and on hard landings without deadening the liveliness and pop of the cambered areas.
