Armada Alpha 1 Skis 2013

Armada designed The Alpha 1 for makin' moves. Its Comp Base gives the Alpa 1 extra speed from hit to hit, which combined with a five dimensional EST Park Rocker means no hang-ups and huge amplitude. The construction provides for a super tight turning radius and low swing weight makes the Armada Alpha 1 Skis spin like a top - definitely a ski for park riders who like to lead the pack.

Product Details

Rocker Type:
EST Park Rocker: The next level. Subtle rocker in the tips and tails with positive camber underfoot. This enhances carving while also disengaging the tip and tail to create a catch-free feel that’s ideal for buttering and nose and tail presses.
Flex:
Flex Pattern: Tip: 6, Waist: 7, Tail: 6.5 (1=soft; 10=stiff)
Shape:
Tapered Tip and Tail: 5 dimension ski with the tip and tail narrower than the contact points
Dimensions (tip/contact point/waist/contact point/tail): 94/111/81/100/85 mm (170), 95/112/82/101/86 mm (176), 96/113/83/102/87 (182)
Core:
Hybrid Triple Zone Core: Three high density wood stringers sit along ultra light wood for a powerful, durable core with explosive energy return. Triple Zone cores resist compression without creating unnecessary weight.
Laminates:
Laminate Matrix: Deliberate directional layering of fiberglass dictates flex pattern and torsional rigidity and allows each ski's flex to be precisely tuned. Bi-axial fiberglass runs in an “x” pattern down the ski to control lateral flex; Uni-directional fiberglass controls flex along the length of the ski; Tri-axial fiberglass, with fibers running in three directions, beefs up the center of the ski.
CK Stringer: Carbon Kevlar combo stringers lie on top of the laminate matrix along the tail to brace the ski. This increases the landing platform, especially when weight is distributed farther back in the ski than intended. It also gives the ski more pop and extends ski life.
Sidewalls:
AR50 Sidewall Construction: ABS sidewall meets cap construction – the best of both worlds. This engineering method combines the lightweight cap construction in the tip and tail with ABS sidewall underfoot, resulting in enhanced edgehold and significantly lower swing and overall weight.
Base:
Comp Series Base: A World Cup-inspired base that requires higher maintenance than the S7, the Comp Series pays for the extra TLC it requires in one way: Speed.
Edges:
2.5 Impact Edge: This edge has an oversized height and width, and the steel is heat-treated to a proprietary hardness, which helps resist breaking and tearing out from rails, ledges and any other abuse it might meet.
Binding Compatibility:
Bindings not included
We recommend a brake width equal to or at most 15 mm wider than the ski waist width.
