K2 BackSide Carbon Ski Poles 2012: A backcountry focused pole like no other, the K2 BackSide Carbon Ski Poles are super lightweight and durable, made with 100% TRIAX Carbon. Beyond the weight consciousness, the K2 BackSide Carbon Ski Poles are equipped with built in Inclinometer, Snow Depth Ruler and functional BackSide grip.

Shaft:
Built with TRIAX Carbon Technology, using the controlled process of winding 100% carbon unidirectional fibers at a 60 degree angle around the outside of the shaft. The external TRIAX fibers reinforce and control the uni-directional fibers of the pole to create a more durable and stiff shaft. The K2 Backside Carbon Ski Poles feature a thinner 14mm shaft that is stiffer and lighter than any of K2’s other poles.
Bubble Vial Inclinometer is integrated into the shaft/grip of the ski pole. It allows for quick accurate slope measurements without having to use an extra tool. The tip of the pole is simply pointed directly up the fall line and then the measurement is read below the grip.
Snow Depth Ruler measures various layers in the snowpack.
Grip:
Back Side Dual-Density grip with utility hook has a soft lower flange for multiple grip positions and is constructed with TPR to maximize comfort and grip, whether wearing gloves or not. It has a purposely low profile so as not to impede probing when using the Snow Depth Ruler.
