This all-levels clinic will meet you where you are and help you take your riding to the next level. With A Singletrack Mind's certified coaches, riding groups based on skill level, and a 8:1 student-to-instructor ratio, you’ll receive individualized attention and hands-on feedback to help you progress with confidence. You'll be amazed by how far you can come in your riding, all in the course of one weekend. Feel free to BYOBike or enjoy a free demo from evo Tahoe City!

Our homebase for the weekend will be evo Hotel Tahoe City, just a stone's throw from Commons Beach on the lake. ASTM will provide bike shuttles to and from each location and facilitate skills sessions as well as trail rides. With trails such as Tahoe Rim Trail and Burton Creek State Park, this region offers an amazing setting and a plethora of trail options for every level. Come for the riding clinic only, or stay for the entire weekend. In the evenings, we’ll have the option to gather over good food, drinks, and each other's company.

Expect a weekend of learning, growing, and connecting more deeply with your bike, your skills, and your fellow riders. You’ll be amazed at what you can accomplish in just a couple of days!

Dialing in Essential MTB Techniques

Whether you’re building confidence on technical terrain or refining skills for smoother, faster riding, our coaches tailor instruction so every rider can progress at their own pace.

Saturday focuses on core techniques through a mix of skills, drills, and trail application. The morning begins with bike setup and a skills assessment, followed by small-group coaching to work on fundamentals like body position, balance, braking, cornering, and switchbacks.

After a lunch break (BYO or grab food nearby), the afternoon moves to the trail, where you’ll apply what you’ve learned across varied terrain with coach demos and sessioning. We’ll wrap the day with a casual Q&A and a preview of what’s ahead.

Skill Progressions & Trail Rides

Day 2 builds on Saturday’s fundamentals, helping you expand your skills and ride with more confidence on varied terrain.

The morning focuses on progressing techniques through small-group coaching, including cornering, wheel lifts, terrain management, and an introduction to drops—along with vision, line choice, and efficient bike handling.

After a BYO lunch, we head back to the trail to apply these skills in real time, with coach demos, feedback, and sessioning on key features. The clinic wraps with a final ride and Q&A, leaving you with stronger skills, more confidence, and clear tools to keep progressing.

High five your coaches & new riding friends, and give yourself some well-deserved recognition, too, knowing that you've emerged from the weekend a stronger, more confident rider.
