Product Details
Frame/Shock:
ALUXX SL Aluminum Construction: Extremely lightweight framesets featuring high-performance strength-to-weight ratios, predominantly featuring 6011 alloy. A heritage of craftsmanship combined with unmatched manufacturing capabilities gives Giant the unique ability to monitor every step of the aluminum frame-building process. Through Giant's cutting-edge materials science, proprietary forming techniques, and attention to detail, we are constantly advancing aluminum performance to create bikes that are lighter, stronger and stiffer. The difference can be felt in the ride. Every aluminum bike bearing the ALUXX Aluminum Technology label must live up to the highest standards and meet the tightest tolerances of any aluminum frame in the world.
Maestro® Suspension | 115mm: Whatever off-road adventures you seek, Giant's Maestro Suspension helps you make the most of your efforts. Control, traction, comfort, speed -- you get more of everything with Maestro. From fast and efficient XC bikes to long-travel downhill setups, Maestro is an adaptable full-suspension platform that offers smooth, active rear suspension for any type of trail and all kinds of terrain.
Fox Float DPS Performance Shock: This shock features a lightweight, one-piece EVOL air sleeve for responsiveness and sensitivity, a dual piston design, and Fox's proven DPS damper. Performance Series FLOAT DPS shocks have fewer adjustments than Factory Series (no Open mode adjust tuning range), and have black anodized air sleeve and body instead of Genuine Kashima Coat. A Performance graphics package ties in the black-on-black look.
OverDrive: Giant’s original oversized fork steerer tube technology. Designed to provide precise front-end steering performance, the system’s oversized headset bearings (1 1/4” lower and 1 1/8” upper for road, 1 1/2” lower and 1 1/8” upper for mountain) and tapered steerer tube work in conjunction to provide optimal steering stiffness.
Shock Adjustments: Air Spring Pressure / Lever Actuated Open, Medium, Firm Modes / Rebound
Trunnion Mount: The latest Giant off-road models feature updated Maestro Suspension systems with a new Trunnion Mount shock and Advanced Forged Composite rocker arm. The Trunnion Mount allows for a longer shock shaft, which produces a lower leverage ratio and smoother ride performance. It also allows for shorter chainstays to improve quickness and agility on the trail.
Fork:
Fork Adjustments: Air Spring Pressure / Simple Sweep Lockout-to-Open Adjust
Marzocchi Bomber Z2: Not that long ago mountain bikes were simple – suspension opened up more terrain and, more importantly, it meant more fun. The original Z2 was there for the mountain bike suspension revolution –you simply mounted it on your bike and hit the trails. Less time prepping and fixing meant you could just focus on the ride. Twenty years later, that same DNA lives on in the new Marzocchi Z2; it’s ready to shred with smooth and plush suspension. The new from-the-ground-up Rail damper combines low maintenance with intuitive ease of use and impressive on-trail performance.
Drive Train:
SRAM SX Eagle™: The latest addition to SRAM's 12-speed juggernaut, SX Eagle brings their amazing gear range, chain retention, and reliability to the masses. Say goodbye to your front derailleur and start pedaling: this group can handle everything from XC tours to all-mountain riding.
Brakes:
Shimano Acera Hydraulic Disc Brakeset: A four-piston caliper with a wide contact area, Shimano Acera brakes give great control over their ample power. With rapid initial pad contact and controllable power modulation, these are sleek, confidence-inspiring, and durable.
Wheelset:
Giant XCT Wheelset: With 25mm wide rims and Giant's Tracker hubs, this wheelset is smooth-rolling and durable.
Maxxis Minion DHF Front Tire: With a tread design that deftly balances rolling speed with braking and cornering traction, it's hard to find fault with the Minion DHF. That's probably why it's one of the most imitated tires in mountain biking. Whether riding local trails, a backcountry epic, racing enduro or World Cup downhill, there's a Minion DHF spec to meet your needs.
Maxxis Minion DHR II Rear Tire: With side knobs borrowed from the legendary Minion DHF, but widened to provide more support, the DHR II corners like no other. The center tread features ramped leading edges to improve acceleration and sipes to create a smooth transition when leaning the bike. Paddle-like knobs on the center tread dig in under hard braking and help keep the bike under control. Pair it with a Minion DHF up front for the ultimate aggressive trail riding tire combo!
Additional Features:
Giant Contact Switch Dropper Post: Trail conditions change in the blink of an eye -- transition from steep climbs to gnarly descents and never skip a beat with the Contact Switch seatpost.
