The Völkl V-Werks BMT 109 Skis have a new topsheet for 2017, but other than that they're the same awesome ski as last season. Light enough for extended winter touring but powerful and stable enough to rock on a daily basis for lift skiing, the V-Werks BMT 109 fills that need for a quiver of one ski with touring capability or a "travel ski" when you plan to include some touring in the agenda. Völkl's version of full rocker provides the ease of turning you want for trees and chutes but doesn't leave you high and dry when there's hard snow underfoot and edgehold is critical.

Rocker Type:

Full Rocker: Völkl Full Rocker is a smooth, gradual bend from tip to tail, with matching sidecut and a symmetrical flex pattern. All the benefits of extra maneuverability in soft snow while delivering smooth, sexy arcs on groomed terrain. The matching flex and sidecut on the full rocker gives you full, uninterrupted edge contact. The more the ski is on edge the more effective that edge becomes, and the resulting smoothness and predictability is uncanny.

Sidecut:

Early Tapered Sidecut: Taper in the tip and tail allows the ski to steer in and out of the turn more easily in powder and gives you the freedom to choose any turn shape you wish.

Shape:

3D.RIDGE Shape: Völkl trims mass wherever possible on the V-Werks models, with ultra thin profiles at the sides of the tip and tail and a powerful central spine or "ridge."

Core:

Multi Layer Woodcore Light: Multi-layer core of very lightweight wood with channels milled out of the bottom for additional weight savings. Denser ash is used in the binding mount area for extra pullout strength, while lighter poplar is used in the tip and tail.

Laminates:

Full Carbon Jacket: Material layup for direct transmission and high reliability/stability at the lightest possible weight.

Carbon Short Sidewall: A short, thick sidewall construction under the boot tapers toward the tip and tail of the ski, leaving an ultra thin profile.

Binding Compatibility:

We recommend a brake width equal to or at most 15 mm wider than the ski waist width.

May Not Be Compatible with All Bindings: Völkl supplies authorized dealers with a template outlining the reinforced area for binding screws. If your binding screws fall outside of this area, the strength of the mount may be compromised. Ask your ski tech if in doubt about binding compatibility.
