At 23, Toby Rafford is one of the most exciting young names in freeride skiing. An avid skater turned freerider, Toby brings a strong sense of freedom and self-expression to his riding. His 2025 FWT rookie season delivered back-to-back podiums, a top-3 overall finish, and the Men's Rookie of the Year title. In 2026 he followed up with a second-place overall on the FWT. But even as the recognition grows, Toby is clear about what matters: "The goal for me has never been just about medals." When freeride was added to the 2030 Olympics, his response was telling - he's excited about the opportunity, but more concerned with making sure the soul of the sport survives it: "I hope that the true freeride stays intact and there's other paths for upcoming generations of kids."
