Product Info

Völkl's freeride reputation among hard-charging women skiers has been built and maintained over the years mostly by one ski -- the Aura. The Volkl Aura Skis + Marker Jester 16 ID Ski Bindings combine a burly Multi-Layer Woodcore with two layers of titanal to produce a ride that caters to ladies who like their skiing smooth and fast -- and have the power to pull it off. Not a floaty, surfy ride that less aggressive skiers will easily take a liking to, the Aura is ready to reward those who have the strength and ability to take advantage of it.

Product Details

Rocker Type

Full RockerA smooth, gradual bend from tip to tail, with matching sidecut and flex. Full Rocker gives the skier all the benefits of added maneuverability in soft snow while also delivering smooth, graceful arcs on groomed terrain. As soon as the ski is on edge, the skier gains uninterrupted edge contact. The more the ski is on edge, the more effective the edge becomes.

Core

Multi-Layer Wood CoreVölkl freeskiing models feature a multi-layer wood core that features two different densities of wood. In the binding attachment area, a dense, ash core is used, while in the rest of the ski, the core is poplar. The more dense wood creates more secure screw retention, preventing binding pull-out, and the soft, supple poplar section allows for resilience and snap. The flex pattern is tailored to each ski model, depending on the desired performance.

Laminates

Power ConstructionConstruction utilizes traditional vertical sidewalls and a torsion box internal layup. Used in racing skis as well as all the freeskiing models, this versatile, proven construction provides tremendous grip, stability, and a smooth ride.
