Ever popular amongst the evo crew, the Black Crows Atris Skis + Look Pivot 12 Dual WTR Ski Bindings have undergone some subtle changes for the 2018 season, designed to make them more stable at speed without giving up their playful poppiness. The sidecut radius has changed from 18 meters to 20 meters, the flex is smoother and a wee bit softer, and the tail rocker has been re-designed, but the ski continues to spread its wings and impress. If you loved the old Atris, the 2018 one charges a little harder and feels a little more secure at top speed, but there's little to not like about either ski. If pressed, we'd say the 2018 Atris leans more to the freeride comp type of feel. Rocker/Camber/Rocker Rocker/Camber/Rocker skis have the playfulness and float of a rockered ski as well as the added edge hold of a cambered ski. The contact points on skis with this profile are closer towards the middle of the ski than a fully cambered ski, but still not underfoot. The cambered midsection provides a longer effective edge on hardpack, increasing edge hold and stability, while the rockered tip and tail provide floatation in deeper snow and allow the ski to initiate and release from turns easier.
