The backcountry holds a dirty little secret that Big Snowboard Inc™ doesn't want you to know. The truth is, it's not all rainbows and white rooms. In fact, it's kinda hard. For every pristine 2k of untouched pow, there's 10k of refrozen slop. For every panoramic, bluebird mountaintop, there are 10 blustery ridgelines that send you scrambling for the puffy buried deep in your pack. That's why it pays to have tool like the Burton Family Tree Hometown Hero Splitboard in your arsenal. It gives you the same the full-on charging, slashing, floating fun of the solid version, but in an upwardly mobile package that's ready for anything the backcountry throws at you. It won't make everything easy, but it'll turn those challenging days into something that looks a whole lot more like fun.
Directional Flex – This flex features increased pop in the tail and a more resilient nose that allows riders to easily maintain control through all terrain and conditions.
Medium - Aggressive
Directional – The classic snowboard shape, designed to be ridden with a slightly longer nose than tail to concentrate pop in the tail while still giving you plenty of float, flow, and control to rip any terrain or condition.
Balanced Freeride Geometry – Balanced Freeride Geometry ends the debate between twin and directional with setback camber and a sidecut that is centered on your stance to create a twin freestyle feel when riding flat base. On edge it turns tight and quick with the float and prowess expected from a directional deck.
Pro-Tip – A tapered tip and tail thickness reduces swing weight for easier mobility.
12mm Taper
FSC™ Certified Super Fly II™ 700G Split Core – Stronger and lighter woods target specific areas of the core to provide pop, strength, and reduced weight.
Squeezebox – Burton's most versatile Squeezebox profile improves pop and performance through the balance of thicker, more powerful core sections with thinner, more flexible sections. Rider energy is transferred outward from beneath the feet, energizing the tip and tail while making the board snappier, more stable and easier to manipulate.
45° Carbon Highlights – Carbon Highlights optimizes each layer of the fiberglass matrix and adds a full tip-to-tail carbon layer to reduce weight and fine tune torsional feel to achieve different ride characteristics. A 60° fiber angle creates a highly maneuverable and playful feel, while a 45° fiber angle provides more aggressive ride.
Recycled Sintered WFO – Infusing a specially formulated wax deep into the pores of this extra-absorbent, high-density sintered material results in an ultra-durable base that stays wide open all season and in any condition.

Super Sap® Epoxy – A resin formulated with bio-based materials that reduces the carbon footprint by 50% over conventional all-petroleum-based epoxies. Less oil consumption means even less of a carbon footprint per board.
Infinite Ride™ – This Burton-exclusive technology allows maximized pop and strength by overbuilding the board, then putting it in a machine that breaks in the board for you. Whether you choose to ride Flat Top, Flying V™, or Camber, rest assured that with Infinite Ride™ your board will maintain its flex, pop, and feel from the first day forward, season after season.
Split Channel – Go ahead and get picky with your splitboarding stance, and continue to fine-tune it as the season unfolds. With the Split Channel, you get the strongest, fastest, easiest, and most adjustable mounting system ever offered on a splitboard. The days of compromise are officially over. All Burton splitboards with the Split Channel come with pucks pre-mounted for easy setup.

The Spark R&D Surge Splitboard Bindings take care of business so you can concentrate on the things that matter: like pinning your line and pillaging all that fresh snow. They feature Spark's proven Tesla T1 platform, an integrated Whammy Bar with multiple climbing positions, and lightweight, supportive Pillow Line straps. These things are a marvel of modern engineering and practical simplicity, just snap the toe ramp down and you're connected. When you point em downhill, the solid aluminum baseplates and stiffer Flip'N'Rip highbacks deliver an engaged, responsive ride that ensures you always feel ready to charge. Spark R&D has paved the way, the rest is up to you.
Tesla T1 System – Tesla T1 bindings slide sideways into the offset touring brackets and are locked into place with the snap ramp. No pins, no cables, no fiddle factor.
Whammy Bar Climbing Wire – A single fatty climbing wire is built into the baseplate with a side arm lever for easy position changes on the steeps. You can switch easily from stowed, to low (12°), to high (18°) and back again while touring.
T1 Heel Rest – The T1 Heel Rest catches the climbing wire in the 12° and 18° positions and is specifically designed to hold the T1 Step Locker in place.
Snap to Ride – T1 bindings slide across pucks utilizing the snap ramp to lock into place for a tight ride down.
CNC Machined Aluminum – Solid CNC machined baseplates for maximum stiffness and durability.
Pillow Line Straps – Pillow Line Straps are ultra durable, comfortable, waterproof, one-piece molded construction, and made 100% in-house. Strap pillows are thin and flexible for a comfortable, conformed fit, while thicker ribs are held off the boot and provide stiffness for a uniquely responsive ride.
Burton Buckles – All straps incorporate Burton's bomber buckles. Ladders and adjusters are produced in-house with unique thermoplastics that maintain flex over a wide temperature range, performing well on spring tours as well as sub-zero suffer fests.
Rip ‘N’ Flip Highbacks – The Rip ‘N’ Flip highback is made from proprietary blended materials for strength, durability and light weight. All Rip ‘N’ Flip highbacks incorporate a tool-free forward lean adjuster (FLAD) for complete customization from 0° to 22° in ride mode. The FLAD toggles easily between forward lean position and -13° touring position for easy transitions.
Puck Compatibility – Slide them on and snap the ramp down. Snap the ramp up and slide them off. The most functional way to attach your binding to your board in ride mode, period. Spark R&D bindings are designed to work with all puck compatible splitboard models.
In The Box – Bindings, Tesla touring brackets, T1 heel rests, aluminum mounting screws, and Spark pocket tool.
