Product Details

Rocker Type

Enhanced Banana (!BTX!)High rocker between the feet blended with a secret numerical formula of camber to the contact points focuses maximum pressure between your feet for magical turns and edge hold on ice and a mild amount of pressure to the tip and tail for end-to-end stability and pop while maintaining incredible float and catch-free freestyle.

Flex

Flex Rating (1 Soft - 10 Stiff)6-7 depending on size

Flex pattern is slightly stiffened at the tip and tail to increase pop and stability on big landings.

Shape

True TwinA true twin snowboard shape is ideal for riders who want to ride switch or play in the park. The nose and tail are identical and the flex is evenly distributed throughout the entirety of the board. True twins are perfectly symmetrical.

Sidecut

Magical Mystery Sidecut

Core

Columbian Gold CoreExperimental new dead tree with the highest compression response ever used in a snowboard

Laminates

BasaltBasalt is produced in a clean, pure process consisting of high heat and absent of toxic additives. Not only is it safer for humans, it’s easier to recycle. Basalt fiber has strength properties much higher than fiberglass and better damping properties for a smooth ride.

Sidewalls

Glow-in-the-dark SidewallsThey may look radioactive, but they're made from healthy soy-based elastomers.

Double Sintered UHMW SidewallsTwice as sintered as any other sidewall: tough, handsome, and light

Power Transfer Internal SidewallsThe same futuristic power 90º pop technology from Lib Tech's world record setting skateboards and power transfer spines, only this time Lib Tech has placed it along the sidewall of your board to add board control to our sandwich construction: stronger, more pop, and more control.

Base

TNTFast and low maintenance dual layered fluoro base material: Wax it or maybe skip a day.

Edges

Magne-Traction™Serrated edges slice through the snow with 7 strategically located and sized bumps along each side of your sidecut giving you insane edge hold and precision control. The biggest bumps are at and between your feet where your balance is centered adding maximum control and power where you need it most. The bumps outside your feet are smaller and less aggressive providing tip and tail control but maintaining freestyle freedom.

Comments about Lib Tech Banana Magic Enhanced BTX Snowboard 2013:

Maybe it was because I rode the board at the end of the day, or maybe it was the conditions not being ideal but this board didn't live up to what I expected. It's still a great board and would work well for a lot of people but it wasn't what I was looking for. I felt like it was a little unstable and chatty in the flats for me. I'd still recommend this because it does have some really cool features and it's a super light board, but I just wasn't as excited as I thought I'd be.

Comments about Lib Tech Banana Magic Enhanced BTX Snowboard 2013:

This board is great!! Started snowboarding at the end of last season, I had a Lib Tech Skate Banana. Ended up selling it and bought this board. I still consider myself a beginner and I have to say that this is the perfect board to learn on, It gives you the confidence you need to advance. As a beginner I was skeptical about buying this board because it is recommended for advance boarders but I have to say that it was just what I needed. It keeps you from catching an edge and it super stable at fast speed. I have to say on my skate banana I was scared to go fast, well not anymore. I find myself going faster and faster. To all beginners if you have the money this is the board for you to learn on trust me!!!

Comments about Lib Tech Banana Magic Enhanced BTX Snowboard 2013:

I am a 40 yr old rider who would much rather ride the mountain than hit the park. In the past I've purchased a board and kept it for years, in 21 yrs of riding I've had only had 4 boards. I was riding a nearly 10 yr old Palmer Honeycircle prior to this board.

While riding at Canyons in Utah I decided to stop in the demo tent and see what was new. After describing my riding style the tech recommended the Lib Tech Banana Magic. He warned me that it would feel a little unstable in the flats but that it would hold an edge like no other. He also told me to enjoy the "playfulness" of the camber/rocker combo.

His descriptions were spot on. It carved flawlessly, the magnatraction let me hold edges like never before. The rocker was totally new to me. It allowed for easy spins and riding switch was effortless. Although there wasn't any real powder to ride, the board showed amazing float through some tree runs that had some ridden out powder. The rocker also made me choose an edge while riding in the flat, otherwise the board wanted to turn on me. Not a big deal but definitely different from what I was used to. I had so much fun on the board I bought it online as soon as I got back to my room!

After returning home to the east coast I had only a couple days of east coast spring/ice riding before the season ended. The board held edges on several steep ice covered trails, while my buddy couldn't hold an edge on his freshly tuned Burton.

Overall it is awesome, I can't wait to ride it next season

Comments about Lib Tech Banana Magic Enhanced BTX Snowboard 2013:

To me this board isnt worth the price tag. Like they say, its your beefed up banana which I wasnt a fan of to begin with. I landed off a little kicker on my toe edge and the mag grab so hard I almost went head over heels. The base is fast and strong with a mid/stiff flex. Its also sketchy at high speeds with chatter. Pop wasnt as good as what I thought it would be. Id recommend this for a groomer rider who hits small stuff on the side of the hill. thats it.

Comments about Lib Tech Banana Magic Enhanced BTX Snowboard 2013:

2013 Banana Magic 157. The day had ice on the steep parts of the slopes, so I got to see how strong the edge hold was. Very nice, like wearing ice skates. The board turns fairly easily, making it a decent board to ride switch with. Great carving ability. Very stable when moving through crud, it stuck to the mountain. Performed really well on the groomed run. About a 7/10 stiffness. Didn't perform well on flats, only due to chatter from it's unique sidecut. Not very unstable, just mildly uncomfortable. I decided to buy the 158 Wide in hopes that the W would reduce the chatter. I'll write a review on that board in the next 2 weeks.
