Revolutionizing the SDS Binding Design, the Rome Katana Snowboard Bindings are going to be the talk of the town this winter. Their AsymWrap Technology paired with the V-Rod Ultralight Baseplates gives you unmatched control over your deck's feel and flex while standing on D30, which is a better performing vibration and impact dampener than EVA and goes along the whole bottom of the binding. Also utilizing the Asym Katana Highback, ContourLight Ankle Strap, and PivotMount Strap Technology, you've got more tech than James Bond. The Rome Katana Snowboard Bindings live up to the specs.
Stiff flex for powerful control
V-Rod Ultralight Baseplate – With the new Minimalist Disc, the footprint of the toe-to-heel rod that transmits your power is narrower, and with the new Asym UnderWrap heel hoop, the corners of the “rockered” sections are evenly beveled and metal-free for a better flex. Here’s what you get: Toe-to-heel power transmission through the “rod” from heel to big toe. Correct side-to-side flex via the “rockered” corners. Only 1.56% baseplate contact with the board for better board feel. A narrower footprint from the rod for more natural board flex. Advanced lightness from the narrower “rod”. A performance-enhancing design ONLY available from the Rome SDS.
Asym Katana Highback – The new highback that Rome designed to top off the Katana features two levels of asymmetry: it’s asymmetrical in flex and shape, to deliver smooth flexibility in the right areas and fully-powered performance everywhere you need it. Here’s what you get: Softer flexing on the medial side for the freedom that snowboarding demands. Fully supportive up the lateral side of the highback for the powerful response that snowboarding demands. Asymmetrically shaped to be higher on the medial side to line up with the angles of your lower leg. Advanced lightness from coring and thinner profiling.
Cant-In-The-Back – Customization for control and comfort by adjusting the highback angle to match the natural curvature of your stance. Rider has choice between 3 and 6 degrees of highback canting.
ContourLight Ankle Strap – A minimalist design that pre-loads tension in the strap so you need less pressure to get secure heel hold. The result is more comfort for the same level of control. Different densities of EVA in different zones create flexibility where you want it, and power when you need it.
PivotMount Strap Technology – Rome's created a new, easy-to-pivot attachment system for both sides of your ankle strap to let you increase the range of ankle strap positions over your foot. This lets you quickly tune the flex of your binding. While many bindings in snowboarding limit ankle strap positions to one choice, the Katana maximizes rider choice.
ConformLight Toe Strap
AsymWrap Technology – With three points of fixed engagement, two in the back and one on the medial side in the front, this new evolution of Rome's UnderWrap concept elevates and lightens the “correct flex” of snowboarding. Here’s what you get: Toe-to-heel power where you put energy into your board through targeted leverage Improved side-to-side flex by optimizing the “rocker” design of the V-Rod baseplate through the asymmetrical design. Advanced lightness through less material and more coring. Quick adjusting—just loosen, slide and tighten. A performance-enhancing design ONLY available from the Rome SDS
