Comments about Line Skis Influence 105 Skis 2013:

I picked up a pair of 186 cm Influence 105s a few weeks ago to serve as my daily driver ski at Big Sky and Bridger Bowl. I'm 6'2", 170lbs, former racer.

Overall I am extremely happy with the 105. Its a big, stiff ski that prefers to charge hard and fast. I've taken it to warp speed through heavy cut up crud and it plows right through with confidence. Impressive edge hold on groomed terrain as well. Seems to have one medium-long turn shape that it naturally likes, but it can be easily coaxed into any turn radius you like.

In tight trees and bumps, its very manuverable, but definitely has to be driven from the front of the boot. Get lazy and in the backseat and it's not going to listen. Great pop from the camber underfoot makes it really fun and nimble.

In deep snow/powder, its got pretty good float, not 120mm underfoot super fat great float, but this is not meant to be a deep pow ski. Still plenty floaty and a lot of fun when you find the untouched stash, not hooky or hard to turn by any means. Early rise seems to keep the tips up well.

Overall, great ski, suprised I don't see more of them out on the hill.

Comments about Line Skis Influence 105 Skis 2013:

      Male, 6'0" 225lbs, Advanced/Expert Skier.

I decided to get with the times and step up to a fat ski with some rocker. As I ski predominantly in the East I was a bit worried about how such a fat ski would perform on the Beast Coast.

I found a deal on some salomon guardians as well as these skis in July. I went with an AT setup hoping to do some skinning in the High Peaks of the Adirondacks. In hindsight this ski is a little heavy for touring. I would recommend something lighter.

First day out I felt clumsy on such big skis. I went from 165cm, 82mm waisted dynastars to these @ 179cm. I spend as much time as I can in the woods and I was a little bit worried this set-up was going to be too much for what I wanted to do with the terrain that I have available.

My second day out on these was much better and I quickly adjusted to the width of the skis. Soon I really enjoyed the ride I was getting.

First off these ski's charge. When you point them downhill they take off and don't look back. The width and the rocker help bust any crud in your way as your ride on top of the pack. As I adjusted more to the width of the skis I soon realized I will probably never ski a sub 90mm waisted ski again. The stability I get while both riding and landing jumps with a fat ski is night and day compared to my old sticks.

I was lucky enough to catch a powder day @ Okemo in early feb and these skis really shined. As expected I was able to float right over powder. The skis also allowed me to be nimble enough to hit the slack and have some fun in the trees. I was really impressed.

I spent the next two days at sugarbush in garbage conditions in what I would later find out was their busiest weekend to date. The wind had blown the snow and left icy groomers. I spent most of my time on groomers due to the company I was with. Again I was impressed by the nimbleness and ability to hold an edge with these skis. I was skiing steep icy slopes and my confidence was not affected. This was when I noticed how much these skis love to charge. In icy conditions (and on very busy groomers) I really had to work to reign the ski in. All it wanted to do was rip the mountain and get back on the lift. I had to pull it back so I could ski safely. I was able to ski the edge of the runs and had a great time hitting the kickers. These skis will bust through or float over almost anything you throw in front of them.

I really enjoy this ski however I must admit I didn't purchase this set-up to be an every day driver. I found a deal on a used pair of 94mm fischers that I use as my go to while at home in Western New York. I don't feel as bad about pounding on a used pair of skis in the WNY woods as I do when I'm riding on these. I would prefer to keep these bases looking pretty so I try to ride them only on deep days.

As an East Coaster, looking for a daily driver I feel a sub 100mm waisted ski is better suited to the terrain I have readily available than these guys. However when the lake effect dumps on WNY or I find some pow in the Daks or Greens I'm on these guys all day and loving every minute of it.

I used these in mammoth and loved them. They're great from the top of the mountain to the bottom. They aren't the best floaters in powder but still handle well. Great skis for a great price!

Great all around skis. They're unremarkable (in a good way) on groomers, and easily transition into much deeper powder. The only thing I don't like is how easily the topsheet has picked up scratches and dings after only ~5 days skiing.

I live in Colorado and break these babies out whenever there's powder. They are a big wide ski but they still handle really well for their size. I love just pointing these downhill and riding dirty.

Solid ski that's capable of handling most anything. I noticed they were a bit slow edge to edge. They're 105 under foot, so that's to be expected. Traditional camber facilitates high speed turning on hard pack. Probably good in crud and pow I'd imagine.

The Line Influence 105 is a versatile do-everything big mountain ski like the Line Prophet 98, except with a bit more width to provide a bit more float (which is enough float for a little guy like me).

Me: 5'6", 145lb, 52 year old aggressive, 45 day/yr, Squaw Valley season pass holder who skis almost exclusively off-piste blacks. (~5 KT-22 laps per hour.)

This ski is a stud from the future. For a one quiver guy who wants to ski it all, you can't beat it. When its snowing it floats when its not I find you can lean them right over on the groomers too. Tight turns, big turns, big air.. it likes to run. Takes a lickin and keeps on ticking haha. I'm hard on equipment but the influence likes it that way. Buy 'em.

Comments about Line Skis Influence 105 Skis 2013:

The Influence series from Line comes from the need of having a powerful ski that will hold up to skiing hard while the Prophet has become a bit more forgiving but what if you don't need a 115mm waisted ski but you still want something that doesn't have a speed limit in variable conditions, well that's where the 105 comes in. I had skied the original Influence 115 and enjoyed it but in anything tracked out I felt like I still had to be on top of it I couldn't take it easy because the the sheer size and construction of the ski only like to charge. Line made a few changes but they also have this great ski the Influence 105 it features a similar construction, a narrower waist and a longer section of cap so you can ski it on a day when it hasn't snowed in a week or the day after you closed down the bar. Its forgiving enough to not always need to push it but rewards you when you do.

Very much like the Prophet 98 only more so, slower turning but still stable. A little better in the crud, not a ski for groomers.
