Product Info

K2 SuperStitious Skis + Marker ERS 11.0 TC Bindings - Women's 2012: If you enjoy charging the entire mountain, riping turns on hard and variable snow conditions while also getting excited at the site of any fresh snow, the K2 SuperStitious Skis are for you. All-Terrain Rocker™, a wider waist, and women-specific lightweight technologies including a Metal Laminate provide top-notch performance in all snow conditions on and off-trail for top-notch skiers. So go pray to Ullr and get superstitious, that dance might actually make it snow.

Product Details

Shape

All-Terrain Rocker™ is designed for all ability levels with added versatility and ease in all snow conditions, featuring an elevated tip for variable and soft snow performance with camber underfoot for power, energy, and edge-hold in firmer conditions.

Progressive Sidecut is a combination of two different radii that enhance the versatility of wider-waist skis. This guarantees improved turn initiation and hard-snow performance.

Construction

Lighter weight Women’s-Specific Mod Technology places thickness and mass in the optimum location to absorb vibrations and impact loads along the entire ski, providing stronger edge hold, power, and control without affecting the overall ski flex.

Women’s Specific Mod Monic is a focused mass-dampener made of a solid zinc mass that focuses mass dampening at a targeted location on the Mod structure.

Hybritech Sidewalls are a unique blend of sidewall and cap constructions that combine the accuracy, power, and performance of sidewall underfoot with the lightweight characteristics and smooth turn initiation of cap construction.

Bindings

The K2 SuperStitious Skis come with the Marker ERS 11.0 TC Bindings. This high end binding integrates with the ERS Plate through Titanal hubs that are imbedded into the core of the ski for the most direct transmission of power. The system hubs are functionally wider with a 50mm footprint, which decreases the distance between the binding and the edge of the ski for added performance.

Included Bindings

Bindings do not come mounted to the skis. Always have a certified technician mount and adjust the bindings.

Core and Flex Pattern

BioFlex 3 Core (80% Aspen, 20% Paulownia): dense Aspen underfoot fused with lightweight Paulownia at the tip and tail with blended Bamboo throughout for increased performance, strength, and durability with reduced swing weight.

Women’s Specific Metal Laminate consists of 2 thinner sheets of lightweight Titanal running the length of the ski. Alternating layers of fiberglass and Titanal sandwich the wood core to provide dampened, accurate, and unshakable performance.

Comments about K2 SuperStitious Skis + Marker ERS 11.0 TC Bindings - Women's 2012:

I recently broke my old Nordica Olympias that I loved and found the K2 Superstitious for an incredible deal and went for it. I am so glad I broke my old ones! These skis require a driver, but they are very powerful. Mostly I have noticed how great they are over the crust and crud. whereas most skis chatter and are hard to turn these have a smooth ride. for a power ski they are flexible, making the moguls very doable. while they are only 30 percent performance on the groomed they turn and cruise great, but lets me honest, these skis should not be succumbed to groomers. My only complaint is that they take a little longer to come to a stop on. This is not a ski for an intermediate or beginner skiier. they are meant to go down a fall line and do not take to making wide turns across the mountain or traversing back and forth as well. Overall they are a ski for me. I can shred the moguls, float in the powder, speed through chutes, and make the crud seem easy.

    Comments about K2 SuperStitious Skis + Marker ERS 11.0 TC Bindings - Women's 2012:

I demo'ed this ski at Grand Targhee in 6 inches of new powder and leftover crud snow. It performed great. It really smoothed out the crud bumps and turned easily in the trees. It felt like a "cheater" ski to me in the deep "leftover" crud snow. Performed great in the steeps. My concern was if it was too soft for steep groomers since the snow at Targhee was "soft" that day. The above review answered that question for me. I did not notice the ski being "heavy". The tip rocker really absorbs the uneven crud and smooths the ride. I would highly recommend this ski to expert women skiers looking for a one ski all mountain performer.

    Comments about K2 SuperStitious Skis + Marker ERS 11.0 TC Bindings - Women's 2012:

Unfortunately I did not get to use these in any powder, bad snow week :-( but they were amazing on the steep blacks and groomers. Carved extremely well, tons of control, very smooth. Love the bindings as well. Heading back out in a week and hopefully will get to try them - nice wide tip so I am thinking they will float on powder!

They seem a bit heavy to me.

      Comments about K2 SuperStitious Skis + Marker ERS 11.0 TC Bindings - Women's 2012:

These skis are even better than i expected. After reading other reviews i thought they might be too advanced for me. I'm an intermediate to advanced skier and wanted a good pair of skis that i could use now but continue to use as i learn to ski better. I used them in fresh powder, groomed hills, ice, flat land, etc and they performed beautifully. The mount for the binding is now made into the ski so you don't have to drill holes to mount the binding. I wish i had bought my own skis sooner instead of paying so much money renting resort skis.

These skis were fantastic from the start. I've skied on ice in Virginia, and groomed, ice, and powder in CO. They are smooth, flexible, and cut well. I forgot what a difference good skis really make. I'm 48 and these might be the last skis I ever use, that's how much I LUV em!

I demo'ed these skis last weekend in Vail when there was incredible powder. They let me cruise effortlessly on all the ungroomed trails, through moguls, and float through the fresh snow. At speed they are extremely stable, no chatter and I was able to keep up with my expert friends I was skiing with. Didn't take them on groomers too much but when we did, they performed great. I'd say these skis are definitely for the advanced/expert skier who's looking to up their game. I wouldn't recommend them to someone who skis mostly blues or likes slow speed, because these puppies want to fly and need someone who can drive them through ungroomed blacks. Loved them, they really remind you how much fun skiing can be!

There are only two levels of skiers. Those whom are comfortable where they are and those whom want to grow and improve their skills. These boards are for the latter group.
The boards do well on no
t-too-deep fresh powder, groomers, and even bumps! If you are looking for one ski that will perform well in most conditions, and want to take your skiing game to the next level - then these are an ideal choice!

I'm up on the Wet Coast (Vancouver) and have used these skis on icy days and on wonderfully powdery days. Surprised at how well it does on icy days! I've also been able to plow through crud and the soft mushy stuff. I love these skis and am so glad I got them!

                Comments about K2 SuperStitious Skis + Marker ERS 11.0 TC Bindings - Women's 2012:

I hit Jackson Hole ready to tear it up on the beautifully groomed runs. The next day, however, it snowed. A lot. Powder, powder everywhere and not a hint of corduroy. My longish, sharp-edged skis didn't cut it, literally. So I rented a pair of K2 SuperStitious Skis and ended up strapping them on most of the rest of the week. They performed ok on groomed, but were absolutely outstanding in powder. I could float, turn wide and play in the powder. I've always avoided non-groomed in the past because I usually ended up getting stuck and falling in the deep. Not so with my rentals. I was so satisfied that when I got home, I ordered a brand new set just like my rentals. They arrived in short order. Sadly, I have to wait for next season to use them.

I am an advanced skier at 5'6" and 120 lbs. This ski performed well in most any condition, but really shows its colors when skied fast and hard. I performed best off piste, but responded to quick turns in the bumps too. Great for an all day, any day ski. Highly recommend.

These are my first new skis in a long time as I was always happy to rent the new demos every year and get the latest technology. But, now that I have these K2s, I am so happy that I don't have to try different skis every year. I have found the right ones! These skis performed perfectly in powder and ice. To top it all off, I asked for a sharpen and wax at the end of my ski week. The shop said they were in almost new condition and only needed wax - so they're durable as well. I would definitely recommend them to a friend!

My ski friends keep telling me I'm a new person on these skis and they can't keep up. The technology is vastly improved from my old skis - highly recommend.

I ski about 70/30 groomed/off-piste and I am always looking to improve the latter. I also own the K2 Burnin Luvs and K2 Lotta Luvs. The Lotta Luvs were my favorite though. The SuperStitious is wider so that gives me confidence in powder and crud. It feels lighter than the Lotta Luvs which hurts when power through heavy crud. Since it is wider, it is not as fun on the groomed runs as the Lotta/Burnin Luvs but I am still getting used to that. The tips are a little chatty in high speed GS turns, I think due to the reverse tip camber. Even with all the differences, this is becoming my favorite of my 3 skis as I become more confident on them.

I bought these for my girlfriend as a x-mas gift, and she was certainly pleased. The price on evo was simply amazing, more then 50% percent off last year's MSRP price! It just doesn't get any better than this!

Regarding the performance of the skis', my gf absolutely loved them and really did push the limit. She's an aggressive skier and had no complaints regarding the performance. She carves hard, charges down the mountain, and we do race each other down for fun; and she had no complaints. Almost makes her a professional level skier.

By the way, they are light weight, strong, and have amazing edge hold even on icey conditions.

                            Service and delivery comments:

Evo had FREE shipping and over 60% percent off in their outlet section; absolutely amazing deal!

I called the evo staff to inquire about sizing, and they were very helpful when I provided my girlfriends height, weight, and ski level.

They were very patient as well, because I kept going back and forth between wanting to purchase this model as opposed to another model; and the customer service rep was very helpful and patient with me; spending almost 15 minutes on the phone with me; yet there was no guarantee I'd actually buy yet. They were geniune in providing their feedback to my questions and concerns regarding this ski and it's size and were objective in their responses.

Great one ski quiver! Skied these in Breckenridge recently and they held up well on chunky groomers, moguls and powder-over-crust conditions. Had read in other reviews that they were a bit heavy but I didn't find them to be. Compared to the rental skis I'm used to, these felt very powerful, agile and sharp. Loads of fun.

These were purchased in the 153cm length for my wife, who is a strong (level 8+) 5'2" petite eastern skier in her mid-50's. They complement her 2011-vintage Burnin' Luv's (also 153's), and were used during an 8-day Utah trip and on days when we actually have fresh/soft snow here in the East. If she only had one pair of skis, these would be a great fit in all but bomber powder.

I swear these have improved my skiing. I've skied these in powder, crud, groomers and they have been a delight to ski in all conditions. I was reluctant to purchase, thinking they'd be too wide and too powder focused. But you can totally rip through groomed slopes. The price? Can't be beat.

I used these skiis only once so im still reserving judgement, but they look beautiful and when i took them out they performed well. I feel like the wideness of them holds you back a little on the carving but otherwise i hope they are top!

Fun with soft snow and edges catch right away on ice. Im very happy with this purchase especially since the price after they have been out for a year is so much better.

I was nervous that these skis would be more for powder than for east coast conditions, but these do amazing on ice. I took them out the first day on variable terrain (moguls, hard-pack, ice, piles of man made snow) and they did really well. The only difficulty I had was getting used to how easily these babies turn!
