Product Info

K2 Recoil Skis 2012: Raised in the shadows of the legendary Public Enemy and Extreme, the K2 Recoil Skis have arrived as the new standard for a high performance all-mountain twin-tip. The Recoil is built solid enough to take a beating in the rowdiest of terrain parks and powerful enough to charge the whole mountain and in all conditions. All-Terrain Rocker makes this ski nimble, powerful, and floaty all at the same time. There you have it, a true living legend.

Product Details

Shape

All-Terrain Rocker™ is designed for all snow conditions, featuring an elevated tip and tail for variable and soft snow performance and camber underfoot for power, energy, and edge-hold in firmer conditions.

Bi-Directional Taper Sidecut gives a ski with slightly wider tip than tail the ability to perform exceptionally well while skiing in the forward direction, but with a similar switch arc for more consistent switch riding.

Construction

ABSorb Sidewalls sandwich a urethane layer in between ABS underfoot for shock absorption, lessening the impact of harsh landings.

TwinTech Construction increases the durability of the sidewalls. Unlike a traditional sidewall, this construction rolls the top material into the sidewall reducing the angle that is prone to abuse.

Tip/Tail Hardware - rivets for durability

3.5mm steel edges are durable and far more resistant to cracking.

Flex

Fir and Aspen core: solid and dense woods known for their inherent strength and durability.

Triaxial Braiding consists of braiding fiberglass around the wood core to provide torsional rigidity for added control. This makes the ski incredibly energetic and responsive.

Graphics

**Please note that base colors will alternate and may not arrive exactly as pictured.

Binding Compatibility

We recommend a brake width that is equal to the ski waist width and at most 15 mm wider.

Comments about K2 Recoil Skis 2012:

Skis are really solid and stable for big parks. I brought them to the mountain the other weekend expecting to ski park when a surprise storm hit and these skis shredded harder in pow, crud, cliffs than any park skis i've ever owned. With a small amount of rocker and 90mm underfoot these can handle anything. However if you're just a park rat and won't be hitting any big features or good terrain I would suggest the K2 Domain. They have nearly the same dimensions but a softer flex and cheaper price.

Comments about K2 Recoil Skis 2012:

I've not had a chance to ride these bad boys yet but I'm dying for the snow to start falling. I decided to buy the K2 Recoils after I did a lot of research. For the past 3yrs I've been riding on some Rossi 162mm. They are decent carving skis w/ atrocious float in powder. Upon my research I came upon K2s Rocker-Camber-Rocker technology. I even went to K2s company website and asked them several questions. After taking the time to research different types of skis I really believe that I'll be quite happy on these boyz. I can already tell that the rockers on both ends will initiate easier turning while the wider the ski plus the camber will also provide better float through the powder. I'm 35yrs old so there's no need for me to hit the park but after even watching some vids on youtube ski reviews the K2 Recoils are going to be a sick pair of all mountain skis. Let the snow start falling!!

East Coast all mountain guys will like these on our ultra variable terrain. Looking forward to testing them in the good stuff out West next month. I don't do park, strictly all mountain. Good grip, good edge hold, and easy turn initiation. Best part for me was relative stability at higher speeds. Only gripe is top sheet has a coue peel spots already. No biggie.

I got these as my first pair of skis as I am switching from snowboarding. I went from not being able to ride to hitting moguls, jumps, cliffs withing 4 days on the snow. I love the rocker camer hybrid. These skis are great for progressing no matter if you are beginner or intermediate. I highly recommend these skis as they are affordable and suited for anywhere on the mountain.

Comments about K2 Recoil Skis 2012:

I previously owned a pair of Line Anthems, but was looking for a ski that could handle more all-mountain terrain. I have ridden these skis in and out of the park, through crud and on ice, and they handled solidly and very well in all situations. The edge hold is better than any other park ski I have ridden, and they are very stable at high speeds. I was told they would lose stability at speed because of the small amount of rocker (2mm x 15cm in tip and tail), but this did not hold true. Stability is excellent, and turns initiate with even a gentile move. Also, the skis are very stable on landings and have a low swing weight in the air, even though it is on the heavier side for a park ski. On boxes and rails, it is easy to do spins on and off, and it is easy to switch up. Overall, a great all-purpose ski that will perform well in and out of the park.

These skis are awesome, it took me over two weeks to decide which pair of skis to buy and I cant be any happier with my choice. Very smooth ride, very stable at high speeds, kills it in the park. It is everything you could wish for in a pair of all-mountain skis.

Comments about K2 Recoil Skis 2012:

This is a great ski. My first ride on them last season I was totally impressed. It's marketed as an all-mountain/park ski. I don't ride in the park, so I can't speak to this, but after a season riding powder and trees in the early season and iced conditions in the late season, I can say they are great all round. I enjoy pretty much all terrain. I will ride groomers when I feel like it and work on carving. It holds edge well for tearing this up. Doesn't chatter too much when it's icy (though more than my buddy's Volkl Mantra's) and is just wide enough under foot to be decent in powder. Rigid enough for the steeps. I would prefer a bit wider for powder perhaps but then you would comprimise on the all around-ness. The cambered twin tip makes it fun for riding switch. Only complaint is that they are a bit heavy so tight turning is a bit cumbersome. Time to hit the weights at the gym!

20 season veteran snowboarder decided to try skiing. With a solid 8-10 days of skiing under my belt, I decided to buy these skis.

Technology has come a long way, and these skis do make it really easy to turn. They're forgiving, and have good edge control on the groomers.

Before I got these skies for a gift, I had used lower quality skies when I began skiing. After several years of going to many different mountains with a wide range of terrain and sizes, I decided it was time to get some new high quality and performance skies.

However I strongly recommend that before you purchase these skies that you a) very well know you personal physical capability level and b) that you have thorough experience in a wide range of terrain and speeds in which you can have good control.

Skis worked great with the powder and through the moguls. While my friends were sinking I was fine. Skinny middle makes it difficult to carve through icy terrain though so beware if you will be skiing this kind of terrain.

I purchased this ski to use as an all-mountain ski, and mounted the bindings back in the classic stance. It's a very versatile, fun ski. If I had one complaint, it would be that the ski can be a little bit unstable at very high speeds. I have the 159cm length, and I imagine that this high speed instability might vanish if I were riding the next size up (164cm I think). They're also designed to be capable as a park and pipe ski, so that might have something to do with the high speed performance as well. These skis perform admirably on pretty much any type of terrain. Obviously it's not as good as a wider powder ski in powder, but it's floaty enough to get through a fresh snow fall (I've used it in 18 inches of fresh powder). They're turnable enough to take through some technical moguls and off-trail terrain, confident on groomers and packed snow, and have enough surface to get by in soft snow and powder. Very fun ski!

Just tried them out last weekend at a local groomed ski resort, overall very pleased with them. Didn't have time to try them on the rails, but they were great on snow. Although friend's snowboard kept rubbing on it on chairs, the graphics didn't get damaged at all, just some on the sides, no big deal.

Just finished riding these in powder slush and ice and I LOVE THEM! I'm 32 so didn't buy for park but I did take some small jumps and misc bumps and these ride like a Cadillac but are responsive and most importantly fun. The guy at the alpine shop who mounted the marker bindings was in love with them, bada@$ looking skis. Skied backwards a little and went VERY FAST, but was completely stable. In short, buy these if you enjoy fun.

Great overall product, stable, fun and reliable. Friendly tip though, do not click your skis together to get off the snow, for it causes the top plastic to peel.

My 16year old son bought these skis, the first he's purchased with his own money. I skied them for a day to get a feel for them myself. They are quick on edge, hold at speed, light enough and enough give to be quick in the bumps. Wasn't a ton of powder the day I skied them, so not sure of the floatation. Center mounted bindings and they were as easy to ski backward as forward. Definitely recommend for intermediate to advanced skiers.

My son really enjoys these skis. We bought them a bit long since he is still growning so he is having an adjustment time. Loves them on the groomers, wishes they were a bit wider for the powder. We got a great price, so all in all, these are great skis.

                                            Service and delivery comments:

Service was excellent. People on the phone were helpful and informative. Skis showed up very quickly and in perfect shape. I'll definitely use Evo again.

Bought these for Xmas for our 15 year old based on several product reviews. Just got another couple feet of snow so we're taking him up to try them out this week.
