The latest vision of big mountain legend, Seth Morrison, the K2 Pinnacle 118 Skis are updated with K2's Konic Technology which improves power and precision over the edges while reducing swing and overall weight from the center and extremities. With a super floaty Powder Rocker and bomber triaxial braided glass surrounding the fir/aspen core, these skis have everything needed to take on the gnarliest big mountain lines you can imagine. Born for the steep and deep, the K2 Pinnacle 118 Skis also have a mildly rockered, tapered tail to improve control at varying speeds and conditions.
Powder Rocker – 50% Rocker, 50% Camber: offers skiers a "surfy" feel with enhanced soft-snow performance. The camber region still exists to ensure edge-hold on firmer conditions. Simply put, Powder Rocker provides unmatched flotation in deep snow.
Stiffer Flex
Freeride Baseline 2.0 – By designing a ski's profile (rocker and camber) to work in combination with it's overall shape (top shape and sidecut) K2's engineers are able to create skis specifically targeted for a desired type of terrain, ability level, snow condition, and even skiing style.
Tapered Tip – A design feature that shifts the contact points with the snow toward the midsole of the ski, reducing deflection in the tip and easing turn release in the tail.
Forebody – Tapered, powder-focused tip for predictability in soft and variable conditions.
Midbody – Medium to wide waist widths ranging from 95 to 118 mm for float and moderate sidecut for medium to long turns.
Tail – Tapered, blunted tails for predictability when exiting turns.
K2 Konic Technology | Aspen, Fir – A revolutionary core design that redistributes weight to the ski's perimeter providing power, strength and stability directly over the edge for performance, while reducing swing-weight from the center and extremities for added ease and control.
Triaxial Braid – A K2-patented machine interlocks strands of fiberglass around a milled core for pronounced torsional strength, while retaining the lively flex patterns inherent in a wood ski.
Hybritech Sidewalls – Unique blend of sidewalls underfoot for accuracy, power and performance with a cap construction in the extremities for lightweight characteristics and smooth turn initiation.
We recommend a brake width equal to or at most 15 mm wider than the ski waist width.
