Völkl Volkl Transfer 89 Skis 2018

The Völkl Transfer 89 Skis differ from their smaller waisted cohorts in more than just size. These park-perfect skis include carbon stringers for an extra measure of pop and power, perfect for hitting features with extra aggression. Their 89 mm waist allows them to trample rails, jumps and features with ease, while also ripping up the rest of the mountain. If you aim to take your ski skills to a higher level, the Völkl Transfer 89 Skis belong on your feet.

Product Details

Rocker Type

Tip & Tail RockerMakes the ski turn-friendly and allows for a stiffer flex setup. Only the shovel and tail zones bend upwards, with traditional cambering in the middle for pop.

Shape

Full Twin Tip

Core

Multi-Layer Wood CoreVölkl freeskiing models feature a multi-layer wood core that features two different densities of wood. In the binding attachment area, a dense, ash core is used, while in the rest of the ski, the core is poplar. The more dense wood creates more secure screw retention, preventing binding pull-out, and the soft, supple poplar section allows for resilience and snap. The flex pattern is tailored to each ski model, depending on the desired performance.

Laminates

Carbon StringersAdditional band of carbon in the layup for direct transmission, agility and life.

Sidewalls

Full SidewallDirect and strong power transmission with full length sidewalls.

Base

P-Tex 2000 Base

Binding Compatibility

We recommend a brake width equal to or at most 15 mm wider than the ski waist width.

Marker Griffon Ski Bindings 2016

The Marker Griffon Ski Bindings are our top selling performance binding year after year. The reasons are obvious - excellent energy transmission, light weight compared to other bindings in its class, and solid durability have made the Griffon a fan favorite that finds its way onto more freeride skis than any other 12 to 14 DIN clamp. Marker's gliding AFD (anti-friction device) ensures consistent release with all types of ISO 5355 alpine soles and is less dependent on cleanliness or condition than stationary AFD's. The Inter Pivot Heel is time tested and offers excellent vertical elasticity as well as reliable release when you really need it. Step into the Griffon this season and find your own sweet spot.

Toe Piece

AFD Gliding PlateAll Marker bindings (except the Jester Pro) are equipped with a moveable AFD (Anti Friction Device), allowing a precise release unhindered by dirt, snow, and ice buildup. The type of AFT is matched to the skier type, ensuring perfect functionality from racing to junior and even alpine touring.

Triple Pivot Elite Toe PieceWith a horizontally oriented spring, it provides the highest energy absorption to reduce the risk of early release. The secure purchase on the boot lug optimizes power transmission and allows for durable, high energy use. The performance to weight ratio of the Triple Pivot toe is truly unmatched in the industry.

Heel Piece

Inter Pivot HeelThis industry-leading construction delivers superior holding power for all types of freeskiing. Its design focuses power in the direction of the boot sole, increasing elasticity. The overall design creates optimum power transmission.

Ski Compatibility

We recommend a brake width equal to or at most 15 mm wider than the ski waist width.

Flex: 100A medium flex perfect for intermediate to advanced all mountain skiers.

Liner

IF Performer LinerThe IF Performer comes with medium density heat moldable Ultralon foam in the main fitting zones of the boot (60%) and provides the best fit - either out of the box or in 4 minutes of heating only.

Shell Materials & Design

Cabrio Design ArchitectureDalbello's 3 Piece Cabrio Design architecture has been the cornerstone of their performance, all mountain and freestyle models for more than a decade. This unique construction combines a 3 piece construction assembly - shell/cuff/tongue - that comfortably secures the foot and lower leg while optimizing smooth and progressive flex. Dalbello's Cabrio models provide the ultimate in responsive performance to ski your best. Cabrio Design permits the use of stiffer and more rigid plastics in the lower shell. This strengthens the support around the foot and lower leg providing quick response and precise transfer of power to the ski edges. This design also prevents the lower shell from distorting and bulging as the boot flexes, making the boot more smooth and stable at high speeds and on irregular terrain.

DB HyperliteWith a perfect blend of ski boot techno-polymer, dbHyperlite is a lightweight performance polymer that provides superior anti-shock and vibration control characteristics.

Stance

Adjustable Cuff AlignmentPermits skiers to align the lateral inclination of the upper cuff to the skier’s leg. Using 5mm Hex Tool, rotate the mechanism clockwise, or counterclockwise, to align boot cuff to desired position.

Ski/Walk Mode

Ski/Hike MechanismLightweight and compact advanced “Hike/Ski” control combines extended range of hiking/walking motion (Hike-mode), with solid, sensitive, and powerful ski control (Ski-mode). Feature enhanced with 2 Position Flex Control.

Buckles

Micro-Adjustable Aluminum BucklesA simple turn of a buckle! Micrometer buckles are easy to use for easy fit customization.

Dynalink Rearfoot RetentionDynalink is an independently functioning heel/instep closure band assembly that secures the skier's foot in the middle and rearfoot sections of the ski boot. During boot flex, the Dynalink band does not permit the foot to slide forward or the heel to lift lifting inside the boot shell.

Inverted Forefoot BuckleForefoot closure buckle above the instep is inverted and designed to close on the top of a boot shell, not the side. The top closure positioning prevents buckle breakage and bending during rail slides, grinds, falls, and transitions.

Power Strap

Sole
