In a family of great all-mountain skis, the Elan Ripstick 86 Skis stands out as the model best suited for women who spend the vast majority of their time shredding prepared slopes but allows for fresh snow adventures on a sweet 4 to 6 inches of overnight feathery pow. Easy to coax into the turn but extremely precise, the Ripstick 86 is one of the best-balanced all-mountain skis out there and suitable for a wide range of abilities.
Tubelite Woodcore – To create the TubeLite Wood Core, two super lightweight Carbon tubes are inserted into a lightweight laminated wood core. Measuring 5mm in diameter and hollow in their construction, these tubes run along the length of the ski following the arc of the side cut. They provide torsional stability and powerful rebound while allowing for material reduction of the core. The result is incredible lightweight response and stability.
Fiberglass – A fiberglass reinforcement optimizes the flex pattern and enhances torsional rigidity of the ski. The fibers are positioned either above or below the ski core and improve the ski’s structural integrity.
VaporTip Inserts – Strong and dynamic Tubelite woodcores are paired with lightweight composite Vaportip inserts in the tip and tail of the ski to lighten swing weight and reduce vibration, dramatically improving the ski's ride qualities.
SST Sidewall – The SST Sidewall Construction provides quick, nimble and direct power transmission from the ski to snow as well as providing exceptional torsional rigidity.
TNT Technology – Elan’s unique TNT technology is a combination of innovations that provides the best balance of light weight construction with power and performance. The core of the TNT Technology is the Tubelite Wood Core with carbon rods along the edges of the ski, combined with Vapor Tip Inserts. The end result is an extremely lightweight high performance ski with exceptional power, cushioning and stability.

The new Tecnica Cochise 95 W Ski Boots combine comfort and control in a slimmed down and versatile package. With a new, more anatomical 99 mm last and improved Mobility Cuff walk mode, the Cochise 95 W both skis better and walks better than previous versions of the Cochise, further improving on one of the top crossover boots available. The new C.A.S. shell is bootfitter-friendly in case you need to fine tune the fit, and a women's specific Merino wool liner adds a new dimension to all day foot comfort.
Last: 99 mm – Performance fit and above average instep height for average width feet.
evo Bootfitter's Notes – The 2017 Cochise lasts are a departure from the previous Cochise line. Gone are the different fits for the 130 flex and all the others; the entire Cochise line shares a brand new 99 mm last. Narrower in the midfoot and heel than any previous version, with reduced volume around the ankle and slightly lower instep, the new Cochise also has a less pointy toebox. The new polyether plastic punches well without the tendency to attract fingerprints that characterized older Tecnica Triax blends, and the C.A.S markings at typical problem areas (first and fifth met heads, navicular, styloid process) are quite accurate for most feet (care should be taken when punching at the bi-injection seams on the shell).
C.A.S. Shell – Custom Adaptive Shape shells are anatomically formed around the heel and problem areas at the factory. Common punch zones are plainly marked with a dot grid pattern on the shell, and the new polyether and Triax 3.0 shell materials offer improved stability when heated.
Quick Instep – A shaped plastic component at the instep that is softer than the rest of the shell helps you to step into and out of the ski boot.
C.A.S. Grindable Boot Board – The removable C.A.S. boot board offers plenty of thickness for grinding and a grid pattern for reference.
Flex: 95 – A stiff flex for advanced skiers who require quick rebound and ski response for steeper terrain.
Women's Quadrafit Ultrafit Wool Liner – A women's specific thermoformable fit featuring 3D EVA rubber ankle protector padding and merino wool that is extremely soft and comfortable.
C.A.S. Liner Technology – C.A.S. Technology focuses on the critical fit areas of the foot to achieve an accurate anatomical shape using dual density pre-shaped thermoformed microcell material. This provides a great out-of-the-box fit for enhanced sensitivity and power transmission all while allowing for liner customization.
Power Light Design – Bi-injected polyether frame that is 30% thinner and 2.5 times stiffer than conventional boot material which results in 18% weight savings without loss in performance.
Shell – Polyether
Cuff – Triax 3.0 women's profile with 10 mm lower cuff height and scalloped rear.
Adjustable Cuff Alignment
Mobility Cuff Walk/Ski Mode – Tecnica's redesigned walk mode features a 42˚ range of leg movement, a super smooth pivot action, and metal-to-metal contact in the locking mechanism. The new S.A.S (Self-Adjusting System) tightens the locking action as the metal wears to eliminate play.
4 Micro Alu Buckles
45 mm Power Strap
Replaceable ISO 5355 Alpine Soles
Aqua Stop Water Protection – Bi-material water protection system with double ridge structure.
