Scott Ransom 910 Complete Mountain Bike 2022

The Scott Ransom 910 Complete Mountain Bike is a long travel 29er built for the heaviest trails. It has 170mm of travel and Fox's fantastic 38 fork so it can bash through sections you've never found rideable, and with its TwinLoc system you can get to those trails with something left in the tank when you summit. The idea of discussing being overbiked or underbiked is becoming less and less relevant as we see bikes like this--a lightweight heavy hitter with no weaknesses. The Ransom is quick, extremely capable in a variety of terrain, and a great choice for aggressive riders who spend their days pedaling to the scary stuff.

Product Details

Frame/Shock:
Ransom Carbon HMX Frame with Alloy SL Swingarm: The stiffest, burliest bike in the Scott line, the Ransom is very lightweight but refuses to skimp on strength. It has a low center of gravity, 170mm of travel, and a carbon layup that optimizes weight savings and durability.
TwinLoc Suspension System: With TwinLoc, a rider can effectively control the complete frame, fork, and shock as a system. Why does this matter? A bike with 150mm of suspension travel, correctly set up, has more sag than a bike with 130mm. It's that extra travel that makes it more fun to ride and more capable on the descents, but the greater sag has an oversized effect on the bike's geometry and climbing performance. That's where TwinLoc matters. Via a handlebar remote, you can choose from three bikes in one!
Fox NUDE TR EVOL Rear Shock: What the TR allows you to do is to select what sort of progression you would like in Descend mode: more linear, or more progressive. By flipping the Ramp Adjust Lever, you can decide how your shock behaves while descending. A more linear shock gives a rider the same amount of support throughout a shock's travel. The suspension is supple throughout, and is "easier" to reach the end of the travel, or "bottom out."
Shock Adjustments: Air Spring Pressure, Lockout, Traction and Descend Modes (Linear to Progressive Custom Ramp Adjust in Descend Mode), Rebound Adjust
Easy Wheel Size Changes: No need to change the fork, all you need to do is flip a shock mount chip, change your wheels and off you go. The flip chip allows you to maintain a similar BB height when switching from one wheel size to the other which is key to keeping handling similar for both wheel sizes.
ICCR Cable Routing: Routing the cables internally omits bulky external hardware and looks cleaner. The cables can endure a longer lifetime as they are protected within the frame. The entry points are machined alloy removable inserts that come along with the frame and can be chosen according to the setup of the bike. Assembling an electronic group or a dropper post will not be a problem and the look will always be clean-cut.
DT Swiss Thru Axle: Working together with DT Swiss, Scott completely revisited the shape of the thru-axle lever to make it more ergonomic and to perfectly fit their frames.
Integrated Frame Protection: From the clever downtube protector under the BB and along the downtube to the noise-silencing stay protector, this is a quiet, fast, and armored ride.
Fork:
Fox 38 Float Performance Elite: All the bells and whistles of Fox's Factory line, just with black stanchions in place of Kashima coating: this 38 is the latest in smooth, light, and stiff. Dual-crown performance in a single crown package.
Fork Adjustments: Air Spring Pressure, Hhigh Speed Compression (8 Clicks), Low Speed Compression (16 Clicks), High Speed Rebound (8 Clicks), Low Speed Rebound (16 Clicks)
Drive Train:
SRAM GX Eagle: GX Eagle is your partner for all rides, all the time, all day. Long days, quick rides and everything in-between, GX Eagle is the ecosystem at its best. With the all new 520% range, all new colourways and seamless compatibility with the rest of the ecosystem, GX Eagle is there to maximize the potential of your ride experience.
Brakes:
Shimano XT 4-Piston: The system adopts a power transfer system in which the disc brake rotor is pressed by the smaller sized piston at the entrance of the disc brake rotor intake and also by the more powerful larger sized piston at the back. This prevents the wobbling motion of the disc brake rotor and reduces noises significantly. The 4-piston caliper also allows a wider contact area for the disc brake rotor while keeping the size compact, and the efficient location of pads is adjusted as necessary to stabilize the pressure.
Wheelset:
Syncros Revelstoke 2.0 30mm Wheels: Designed for enduro and trail use, these rims are tough enough to handle all-day punishment without failing deep in the backcountry while staying lightweight enough to accelerate with the lunch ride crew.
Maxxis Assegai Front Tire: The Maxxis Assegai tire is named after the iron-tipped spear used by the Zulu people of South Africa. Greg Minnaar, a native of South Africa, thought it was a fitting name for a tire ready to do battle on the mountain. The tall knobs punch through dust and loam to find traction, but also offer support and confidence on wet roots and rocks. While other tires excel only in certain conditions, the new Maxxis Assegai is built to go fast everywhere.
Maxxis Dissector Rear Tire: Designed in conjunction with Aussie DH racer Troy Brosnan, the Dissector seeks to minimize drag while retaining cornering control.
