Combining Futures' solid Control series and the design chops of Al Merrick from Channel Island Surfboards comes the Futures AM1 Medium Control Tri Fin Set. The single layer of uni-directional carbon fiber creates a fin that is ultra-light while creating killer response. With its stiffness and durability, the AM1 Control Tri Fin Set provides power plus stability to the rider.
Control Series – The Control Series is an upgrade to Futures' fiberglass line. Now featuring a layer of uni-carbon strips which give them a much more dynamic response. This addition also gives these fins a thinner profile. This translates to a lighter-weight fin and a decrease in drag without sacrificing the durability or control you’d expect from a fiberglass fin. The Control Series is also a great addition to the Ride Number story, contrasting with Speed Generating fins such as Blackstix or the Generation Series. These fins will fit into the 1 to 3 Ride Number range as the most Speed Controlling options in our line. Make sure to have a set of these in your fin quiver for powerful conditions.
Side Fins – Height: 4.50" / Base: 4.50" / Area: 14.84" / Foil: Flat
Center Fin – Height: 4.29" | Base: 4.31" | Area: 13.35" | Foil: Symmetrical
Ride Number 3.0 / 10 – Ride Number is all about how your equipment feels while you're surfing. Now you can choose a Speed Generating Feel that is springy and responsive by picking a fin in the 10-7 range, or a solid, engaged, and predictable feel from the Speed Control category rated 4-1. For a Balanced feel try a Ride Number of 7-4.
Symmetrical Foil – Symmetrical foil rear fins on quads give a fluid consistent feeling that is predictable in all conditions, especially when the rear fins are set off the rail, closer to the stringer.
Flat Foil – Flat foiled fins break free sooner, and are better at controlling speed. Often surfers prefer them in fast powerful surf where they do not need to create additional speed. If you have muscle memory from riding glass-ons, flat foiled fins will feel the closest.
