The Faction Agent 3 Sam Anthamatten Skis take an already legendary 106mm touring platform and dress it up in limited edition artwork by Andrew Pollard, inspired by a team trip to Mongolia. With only 150 pairs made, you get that award-winning combo of lightweight core, carbon weave, and balanced flex that handles everything from uphill grinds to powder slashes, all designed in collaboration with athlete Sam Anthamatten. Versatile enough to be your one-ski quiver, rare enough to turn heads in the skin track.
Mustache Flex – This flex works best for most skiers. Enjoy stability in front of and behind the binding area to provide solid edge hold. Then, we transition to smooth, progressive flex in the tips and tails to easily absorb all the different bumps and snow debris on the mountain. This flex allows for an easier turn initiation and finish.
Flex Rating – 7 (1 = Soft, 10 = Stiff)
Elliptical Sidecut – Elliptical Sidecut is made up of a longer radius underfoot and shorter radii in the tip and tail of the ski. The long radius underfoot means you can pivot faster and easier, while a shorter radius in the tip and tail result in easier turn initiation. This sidecut allows for a wide variety of turn lengths, angles and mounting positions.
Freeride Flat Tail – Traditional flat tail design is built for speed, ultimate edge grip and control throughout charging turns. Brought into the modern day with a slight tail rocker, this shape is easier than ever to slash your turn into a slarve and won’t hook up in fresh conditions.
Lightweight Karuba Core – Karuba is an extremely lightweight woodcore with good strength properties. Despite being little-known, Karuba provides excellent flex and vibration absorption capabilities without adding weight, making it an ideal woodcore for a touring ski that performs just as well on the uphill as on the downhill.
Full Carbon Weave – Ski light and stable with 8-12 unidirectional carbon strips on either side of the wood core. These are seamlessly woven into the fiberglass, boosting ski stability without adding bulk. Reap the benefits of strength & stiffness throughout the full length of your skis with minimal weight penalty.
Full Strength Sidewall – A construction that places strips of protective material along the sides of each core, between the edge and the topsheet.
XL 2.5mm Edges – Fractions of a millimeter might not sound like much, but when it comes to edges, it adds up. The 2.5mm edges add an extra 25% of height to Faction's standard 2mm edge, making for a stronger and more durable ski.
