Designed by Al Merrick of Channel Islands fame, the Futures AM1 Blackstix 3.0 Tri Fin Set is part of the new Blackstix lineup of super light speed-generating fins. With a springy carbon fiber tip and super light epoxy resin construction, the AM1 Blackstix 3.0 fins incorporate Future's V2 Foil shape for the best combination of speed and control.

Construction:
Blackstix Construction: Blackstix construction has a flexible Carbon Fiber tip that loads up and releases energy for generating speed when you need it. These are the lightest fins in the Futures line.
Carbon Fiber: 23˚ Unidirectional carbon in the base; asymmetrical 12K carbon at the tip
Epoxy Resin: Epoxy resin is lighter, tougher & more resilient than polyester resin. These features all play a role in making the Blackstix the lightest & fastest fins in the world.
As a bonus, epoxy emits 50-75% fewer VOCs (volatile organic compounds) than polyester resin, which means a decrease in harmful chemicals in our environment.

Features:
Symmetrical Foil: Even water flows to both sides of symmetrical foil fins for a fluid consistent feeling that is predictable in all conditions.
V2 Foil: A V2 Foil is a V. Foil and Flat Foil blend. It takes the best speed generating attributes of the V. (at the base) and transitions into a flat foil in the tip for a controlled release in critical turns. Try the V2 foil if you are transitioning from flat sided fins. The benefits of the V. foil base will be noticeable but the change for your muscle memory will not be too drastic.
Ride Number 9.8 / 10: Ride Number is all about how your equipment feels while you're surfing. Now you can choose a Speed Generating Feel that is springy and responsive by picking a fin in the 10-7 range, or a solid, engaged, and predictable feel from the Speed Control category rated 4-1. For a Balanced feel try a Ride Number of 7-4.
AM1 Template: The AM1 template offers a wider base for drive off of the bottom and a refined tip for release off the top, while the additional rake provides hold through carves.
