Cross Country

With speed and pedaling efficiency in mind, cross country (XC) bikes are the lightest mountain bikes with the least suspension travel (typically 0 - 120mm).

Trail

Trail bikes are the quintessential “mountain bikes.” If you’re heading into the woods expecting to do it all on two wheels – climbing, technical sections, AND fun descents – you’re looking for a trail bike.

Enduro

If you’re looking for maximum performance while flying down heavier trails, an enduro bike is for you. These bikes combine ample suspension travel (typically 150mm+) with descent-focused frame geometry and components that allow for reasonably efficient pedaling.

Downhill

For bike park days and shuttle laps, there’s nothing like a downhill (DH) bike. Designed to tackle the roughest trails at high speeds, these bikes have long suspension travel (typically 170mm+), huge brakes, and unreal descending capabilities. DH bikes are not as suitable for tight trails or climbing.

Mountain

Mountain bikes are built for tackling rough terrain with frames made of durable materials like aluminum or carbon fiber, ensuring stability and maneuverability. They feature suspension to absorb impacts from rocks, roots, and drops, providing a smoother ride.

Urban/Commuter

Urban/Commuter bikes are purpose-built for navigating city streets with comfort and practicality in mind. Featuring frames designed for easy mounting and dismounting, often made of durable steel, these bikes prioritize reliability and ease of use with components like internally geared hubs or single-speed drivetrains for low maintenance.
