The middle of the skin is replaced with rip-stop nylon fabric to save weight. Note: Black Diamond recommends centering the Ascension Split STS Climbing Skins and cutting both sides WITHOUT moving the skin from side to side as recommended with their solid skins to avoid over-trimming.
