Tour Mode:
Improved ST (Smooth Touring) Mode: Spark injection molds a proprietary thermoplastic over existing aluminum or steel parts in a process called "overmolding," reducing friction and improving durabillity.
Snap Ramps: Bindings slide sideways into offset touring
brackets and are locked into place with our
snap ramps.
ST Touring Brackets: Incorporates the best
features of aluminum and thermoplastics.
Spark R&D overmolds their custom plastic blend over
and through the holes in the aluminum base,
forming bushings that are incredibly durable.
ST Whammy Bar Climbing Wire: Built right into the baseplate. Overmolded plastic
where the bar contacts the baseplate allows for
super-smooth climbing wire deployment and
transitions.
ST Whammy Bars: A single fatty wire with a side arm lever.
Overmolded thermoplastic sections allow you
to switch easily from stowed, to low (12°), to
high (18°) climbing positions and back again
while touring. Includes an overmolded sleeve of plastic on both sides of the bar, right where the climbing wire contacts
the baseplate. This reduces friction allowing for super smooth movement into and out of high, low,
and stowed positions.
T1 Heel Rest: Catches the climbing wire in the
12° and 18° positions.
Baseplate:
CNC Machined Baseplates: Machined cutouts for maximum weight savings.
Straps:
Full Pebax Plastics: Pillow Line Straps, Ladders, and Adjusters all made with Pebax, a premium material most often found in high-end ski boots as it provides consistent stiffness and improved toughness in cold temperatures. It's also 20% lighter than the standard material.
Highback:
Carbon Reinforced Nylon Highbacks: More responsive, lighter, and stiffer than the
standard glass reinforced highbacks. Injection
molding allows for more complex geometry and
improved impact strength compared to other
methods of carbon fiber construction.
Compatibility:
Requires Pucks for Mounting in Ride Mode: Spark Canted Pucks or Regular Pucks recommended (available to purchase separately)
Additional Features:
7075 Aluminum Heel Loops: Thinner and lighter than Spark's standard heal loop while maintaining the required strength.
Every Gram Counts: Pro aluminum hardware replaces 7 stainless steel components for a 65% hardware weight savings. Custom made hardware allows Spark R&D to add splitboard specific features like deep hex heads for less strippage and hollow pivot pins for weight savings.
Weight: Size Medium: 1.34 lb/ea or 2.68 lb/pair.
