Burton Hitchhiker Splitboard Bindings

The transition between up and down should be the easiest part of your day. Burton teamed up with Spark R&D, who know splitboard bindings better than anyone, and the result is the Burton Hitchhiker Splitboard Bindings. Their Tesla T1 machined aluminum baseplate forms the foundation, keeping things stiff, precise, and ready to charge the moment you flip into ride mode. Hammockstrap™ and Supergrip Capstrap™ 2.0 lock in your foot exactly where it needs to be, Double Take Buckles make adjustments fast and intuitive, and the Negative Lean Hi-Back with FLAD™ keeps your calf comfortable on the skin track without sacrificing response on the descent. Medium to stiff personality. Efficient on the way up. Powerful on the way down. Built with reground materials because the backcountry is worth protecting. Get up there, the rest will take care of itself.

Tour Mode:
T1 (Toe) Bracket: Toe brackets provide the mounting point for splitboard bindings when in touring mode, allowing for a nearly frictionless pivot when skinning.
T1 Heel (Rest) Bracket: These brackets provide alignment for the baseplate of the splitboard binding when it is resting on the splitboard plank, and they also provide a notch to catch Whammy Bars (climbing wires) during uphill travel.
Whammy (Climbing) Bars: Climbing bars are used to ascend steep terrain and provide additional support under the rider’s heels. This makes sustained uphill travel easier by bringing the ankle closer to 90-degrees at rest and helping distribute body weight more evenly across the splitboard planks for better traction while skinning.
Baseplate:
Spark R&D Tesla T1 System: Industry-standard splitboard binding interface that completely eliminates the need for traditional loose pins and cables. By sliding sideways into offset touring brackets and locking down via a snap ramp, it provides incredibly fast, secure, and intuitive transitions in the backcountry.
Machined Aluminum: Incredibly stiff and lightweight.
Straps:
Hammockstrap™,: A stitch-less, pre-curved construction that minimizes materials while maximizing boot wrap and responsiveness.
Supergrip Capstrap™ 2.0
Buckles:
Double Take Buckles: Features dual-sided tongue teeth to help support quicker engagement and provide faster tongue uptake so it takes fewer cranks to tighten your straps, vastly improving strength, speed, and ease.
Highback:
Negative Lean Hi-Back: Designed for comfortable backcountry touring.
FLAD™: The FLAD allows riders to adjust the angle of the hiback from negative (for touring) to positive (for shredding).
