Nordica Dobermann 5 M Ski Boots 2024

There's a new trend at the very highest reaches of the freeride world, and that's athletes going back to a plug boot all-polyurethane "race" design, but with a more relaxed fit - typically 96mm. The Nordica Dobermann 5 M Ski Boots are Nordica's entry in that particular sweepstakes, basically a slightly roomier (if you can call 96mm "roomy") and slightly softer boot with a full hard plastic ISO 5355 sole and 4 buckle overlap-with-cinch-strap architecture. This boot won't tour and is about as slippery in the parking lot as your skis, but once you're in your bindings it's magic. This approach isn't for everyone, and will probably require a close collaboration with a skilled bootfitter, but for those seeking the pinnacle of recreational ski performance it's the way to go.
