Giro Emerge Spherical MIPS Helmet

The new Giro Emerge Spherical MIPS Helmet gives freestyle riders the same protective technology that Giro builds into their World Cup Avance helmet, but in a pared down half shell design. MIPS® Spherical is a new evolution of MIPS® technology that dispenses with the flexible plastic interior frame and instead uses a two piece dual density EPP (Expanded Polypropylene) system. One liner is free to rotate in any direction inside of the other in an impact, and the use of the resilient EPP foam provides superior protection after multiple impacts.

Construction:
Hardshell Construction: Hard Shell Construction produces great helmets at a great price. A rugged outer shell is molded and then attached to the EPS foam liner.
D² Construction: The use of two densities of EPP (Expanded Polypropylene) foam provides protection in both high and lower speed impacts. In addition, EPP foam is more resiliant than EPS foam, and performs better after multiple impacts.
MIPS® Spherical: A new technology developed jointly by Giro and MIPS in Sweden, MIPS® Spherical uses inner and outer EPP foam components to allow a "ball and socket" rotational movement of several millimeters in any direction during an impact.
Ventilation:
Stack Ventilation: Stack Ventilation was developed based on research showing the majority of the warm air that can cause fogging exhausts from the center top vent of the goggle. Aligning the Stack Vent in the helmet with the center vent of your goggles helps to keep them clear and fog free while maintaining total helmet and goggle integration. Stack Ventilation
SuperCool™ Vents: Super Cool vents pull cool, fresh air into the helmet while pushing heat and stale air out. Fit:
Stash Fit System: Allows for the advanced customization of your helmet with three possible padding configurations. The system includes a built-in liner pocket and two densities of earpads. Run it without pads, with medium pads, or with a thicker pad depending on your preference.

Strap Channel: A recession in the interior liner allows riders to run their goggle strap under their helmet.
