2027 Salomon QST Ski Collection Review

"I love the 94 for the harder snow — first thing in the morning, railing groomers, laying down some nice GS turns. Then we stepped over to the 106, where it's steeper and bumpier, that off-piste terrain — that's when the 106 really excels. I started off on the [more beginner-oriented] 92, a ski I'd never skied before, and it felt super intuitive and easy to ride, a lot of fun on those hard morning groomers. And then, when it started softening up, I brought out the 100. It just felt like an immensely playful ski that you could still really push and charge."

The 2027 Salomon QST lineup splits into four distinct rides, each built to answer a different question about how you ski the mountain. Every ski in the family shares a full poplar woodcore for a lively, stable platform, but the shape, rocker, and flex shift hard from the playful QST 100 to the charge-anything QST 106. evo spent a week putting all four through Revelstoke's variable conditions alongside Salomon's own category manager, and the verdict was clear: there's a QST built for wherever you land on the mountain.

Pros

  • One shared full poplar woodcore platform ties the family together, so every model rides with the same stable, lively foundation even as shape and rocker shift underneath it
  • A genuine ski for every rung of the ladder — an intuitive on-ramp in the 92, a firm-snow carver in the 94, a playful all-conditions ski in the 100, and a full off-piste charger in the 106
  • Cork Damplifier inserts and basalt/fiberglass construction across the 94, 100, and 106 keep the ride calm through chop and variable snow

Cons

  • Three of the four skis land in the same Intermediate-Advanced ability band, whereas the QST 92 is an outlier as more of a Beginner-Intermediate ski
  • Construction isn't uniform across the line despite the shared name: the 92 leans on a titanal insert while the 94, 100, and 106 use Cork Damplifier inserts instead, so "same family" doesn't mean interchangeable underfoot feel

Who Is It For?

There's a Salomon QST ski for nearly every skier and condition. The QST 92 is the on-ramp, forgiving enough that our tester called it intuitive on her very first run despite never having skied it before. Step up to the QST 94 for firm morning groomers and GS turns on piste, the QST 100 once the snow softens and you want a ski that can still get playful, or the QST 106 when things turn steep, bumpy, and off-piste and you need an everyday driver for serious terrain.
