2027 GNU Turbo Gremlin C3 Snowboard Review

"It just loves to go fast, super stable, really powerful board. If you're the type of person who likes to straight-line stuff and go Mach 10, this board's going to do it for you."

The GNU Turbo Gremlin C3 Snowboard takes the floaty, volume-shifted DNA of the original Gremlin and dials up the aggression. GNU wove carbon power bands through the core and trimmed the waist width, adding stiffness and quicker edge-to-edge response so you ride it true to size instead of sizing down like the OG. The verdict from evo's demo day: a hard-charging, high-speed all-mountain freeride board built for riders who want to point it and go.

Pros

  • Carbon power bands add stiffness and snap without extra weight, so it's noticeably quicker edge-to-edge than the standard Gremlin
  • Aggressive C3 camber and Magne-Traction edges lock in confidently at high speed and on firm, variable snow
  • Directional shape and floaty nose still surf through powder and broken snow with ease
  • Narrower waist width means you ride it true to size instead of sizing down 3–7cm like the OG Gremlin
  • Handmade in the USA at GNU's zero-waste Mervin factory

Cons

  • Stiff, Advanced-Expert-rated build isn't the move for casual or mellow riders
  • Directional, high-speed focus means it's not built for jibbing or park laps

Who Is It For?

GNU's new Turbo version of the Gremlin is for the rider who wants rock-solid stability at speed but still wants a nose that floats when the snow piles up, per GNU's Matt on the demo day. It's built as an all-mountain freeride board, not a jib or park deck, so boxes and rails aren't really the point here. evo lists it Advanced-Expert, and the video backs that up: casual riders probably won't get as much out of it as someone who already likes to charge hard and hunt speed.

I am a freeride focused snowboarder who seeks out the tightest trees and steepest runs. I spend most of my time searching for the best snow but pride myself in my ability to ride the worst snow with style.

I run the snowboard department at our SLC store and lead a team of rad snowboard bootfitters. I love spreading stoke and nerding out on gear.
