2027 Blizzard Canvas 108 Skis Review

"It's softer on the tip and tail, so it lets you turn easier and jump... But surprisingly, it also holds an edge when you're trying to carve it."

The Blizzard Canvas 108 is a new direction for the brand, a freeride-minded answer to the wildly popular Black Pearl that trades hard-charging muscle for playful, creative energy. Noticeably more tip and tail rocker than the Rustler or Sheeva drops the swing weight, while a True Blend wood core keeps it solid underfoot with a progressive flex that loves side hits and slashes. The surprise? It still holds a real edge on firm groomers, and it's light enough to wear a hybrid binding for slackcountry laps.

Pros

  • Deep tip and tail rocker delivers a light swing weight for easy pivots, slashes, and spins
  • Progressive flex pops off side hits and jumps with plenty of energy
  • Holds an edge on firm groomers better than its soft, rockered profile suggests
  • Light enough to pair with a hybrid binding like the Shift for slackcountry missions

Cons

  • Chatters and loses composure at high speed
  • Less stable in chopped-up, tracked snow than stiffer freeride chargers

Who Is It For?

The Canvas 108 is built for intermediate to strong freeride skiers who want a playful ski for side hits, jumps, and tricks as much as everyday resort laps. Throw a hybrid binding on it and it becomes a true one-ski quiver. It chatters more and feels less stable at high speed or in chop, so aggressive skiers chasing a stable, downhill-charging feel should check out something geared for hard chargers.
