2027 Armada AntiMmatter 100 / 100 W Skis Review

"Holds up really well at high speed on hardpack and variable conditions, but it's got enough of a lively energy, loose character in the tail, that you can still slash it and pop it off different things."

The 2027 Armada AntiMatter 100 and AntiMatter 100 W replace the outgoing Declivity in Armada's freeride lineup with a new shape, mount point, and Speed Metal construction. A partial Titanal laminate runs through the binding zone on both models for real high-speed stability, while the 100% Poplar core and full-length AR100 sidewalls keep things damp without turning either ski into a dead-weight charger. On the hill at Brighton, both the men's and women's-specific builds delivered the same verdict: a true all-mountain freeride ski that holds an edge at speed and still wants to slash, pop, and get creative.

Pros

  • Speed Metal Titanal laminate delivers real high-speed stability and edge hold on hardpack and variable snow
  • Poplar core keeps the ride damp and predictable across conditions
  • Playful, loose tail lets you slash and pop instead of just pointing it straight
  • Unisex construction means identical performance regardless of which topsheet you pick
  • Full factory size run from 154-189 cm covers a wide range of heights and skill levels

Cons

  • Stiffer flex (7 tip / 7 mid / 8 tail) and a Freeride Rocker profile mean this isn't well suited for beginners
  • As with all skis in this waist width range, it's a jack of all trades, master of none.

Who Is It For?

This is a ski for intermediate-advanced skiers who want serious high-speed stability without giving up the ability to get loose and creative. Armada built the AntiMatter 100 with input from Todd Ligare and Anne Wangler, both athletes with strong alpine racing backgrounds, so it holds up in hardpack and variable conditions at speed while keeping enough lively energy in the tail to slash and pop off features. Armada calls it a unisex platform, and the men's AntiMatter 100 and women's-specific AntiMatter 100 W share the same core, laminate, and sidewall build, just packaged in different topsheets and separate size runs, 175-189cm for the men's 100 and 154-168cm for the 100 W. Riders looking for a soft, forgiving beginner ski or a dedicated park twin should look elsewhere.
