The Atomic Backland Tour + Brake Alpine Touring Ski Bindings flew under the radar for much of last season, with most of the fanfare reserved for the newer "crossover" touring bindings, but they didn't escape the notice of a big segment of the hard core touring community. Skiers looking for race binding simplicity with bomber durability and the ability to adjust for different boot sole lengths didn't have to look far to find their answer, and the Backland Tour turned out to be money. It's rare that a new tech binding hits the North American market with no glitches and no reported failures in its first season, but the Backland Tour seems to have done it, and considering how hard some users have been pushing the binding that's commendable.
